It sounds like we would have at least had to wait for Villa to decide if they wanted to make an offer or not. If that was part of the contract Hull signed with Villa then we probably couldn't have signed him before today anyway. So now we have to wait to understand that outcome. Can you tell us what the player has done wrong please? The likely/reported facts are he has agreed terms with us over Everton and Palace? Which bit of that are you unhappy with him about?
Also reported facts are Villa have clause which meant Hull literally could not sell him to us until deadline on said clause which allowed Villa to match terms and speak to the player. Which part of that is Philogene's fault?
He will most likely still come to us and if he doesn't it will be because Villa have offered him something he can't refuse. Pretty understandable, not treating anyone like mugs and not something to wet the bed about.

Mate, get a grip. We’re a premier league club now, competing with premier league clubs for players who are prem quality, not waiting on the Rakeem Harper deal to be finalised.
We don’t actually know what’s going on behind the scenes, he may have already agreed to join and we just don’t know it yet. Unfortunately we need to accept that we’re premier league now (what a shame) and we can’t keep transfer dealings as quiet anymore because of the media interest, as much as Ashton would like to.
And anyone, isn’t it a good sign that a player we are after is so keenly wanted by other premier league clubs? Would you rather us not compete at all with these clubs for such a talented and wanted player? He also has the right to take the time to make such a big potentially career changing decision.

Can the player ( or any player), not tell his agent ( his employee!), that he had made his decision and wants to join X Club. We are constantly being told he has stated he wants to join us, so, what’s the hold up? We are told he had agreed terms. With us, so, what’s the hold up? Who has the control of a players destiny, the player or the agent ( employee)? Does the player not know his own mind? What’s the hold? |  |

Agree with OP this is getting ridiculous now plus possibly putting the Greaves deal in jeopardy? Get Greaves and Delap done and move on. Even if we buy him now his agent will push for a move in 12 months time anyway. Also we need to show others we are not going to be mugged off in the transfer market.
A few days ago it was reported by TWTD Delap signing unlikely and Philogene terms agreed when in actual fact it's the other way around although I appreciate they were only reporting what they knew at the time.
