Personally I don't think it matters. He still played well during the game
I have zero stats to back this up but it also feels like there are more penalties in the game now due to VAR, so having someone who scores a load both from open play and the spot definitely doesn't feel like a bad thing. Certainly don't see why we'd be dropping him from the England side at the mo | | | |

85% of penalties in regulation time are converted, apparently. I would imagine Kane's success rate is even higher.
Irrespective of yesterday he's clearly a valuable player for England. The issue I have with him is how deep he tends to drop, not sure if that's been the instruction or whether he lacks the discipline to stay higher up the pitch and play off the shoulder, but in the Euro's he was definitely guilty of it and as a consequence not stretching the game enough and creating the space for the talented players we have behind him. Was chalk and cheese when Watkins came on. No doubt Kane is an excellent goal scorer though and comes alive in the box, I just don't think we utilised that particularly well in the Euros. Still a quality player, no doubt about that. |  | | |
