So, in the worst case scenario that McKenna goes to Spurs this month 07:39 - Jan 21 with 6930 viewsNeedhamChris

Who would you want?

I genuinely can't think of anyone realistic that wouldn't be a disappointment. Potter would have been okay - but now gone.

Luckily Levy's track record on good appointments is quite poor - so we should be fine.

I'd say it's unlikely, but unless you're McKenna himself you don't actually know that. Hence the worst case scenario.

Anyway, it's a hypothetical.

He's not available, currently on a long term contract living in your head.

It’s not that his appointments have been poor but as a club, they are quite impatient and, to a certain extent deluded.

The first couple of bad results and there will be calls for his head - Spurs are a much bigger club then us, but I think it’s the wrong type of job for KM.

Of the known quantities, he'd be top of my list.

It wouldn't surprise me, though, if Ashton & Co have some McKenna-esque names on their list as well, or perhaps the next Hürzeler.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I don't think people realise how close he was to joining Palace this time last year.

That’s not a bad idea. A TWTD collective. All major decisions could be run through board polls. We’re all football geniuses in our own special ways, so why not? I can’t see what could go wrong.

Straight swap for big Ange

He holds the record for the most points in a Premier League managers first 9 games. That's the kind of new manager bounce we need to keep us up!

The incessant prophetic catastrophizing on here is becoming quite depressing.

Think we have enough actual struggles to contend with, without conjecturing more up.

Lighten up a bit

It's just a football discussion on a football forum. He's not saying he expects McKenna to go or wants him to go. It's basically the same as people hypothesising about all the various strikers we might sign

KM won’t go mid season.

I’d like to think you are right, but there can be no doubt that KM is hugely ambitious and, whatever we may think, we are a stepping stone to a bigger club/job. I think he’ll jump at the chance if it’s Spurs mid season, maybe not as higher risk of him going if it was another club. He obviously has a very soft spot for the club, he has the history, knowledge of the club, and it’s all set up for him. Very much hope I’m wrong, but my money would be on him going to spurs if he was offered it, even if mid season.

This is a fair point - although more of a gamble in the PL than it was even in L1.

I wonder if Ashton's succession planning has delved into the European leagues - that would at least add some intrigue and excitement to the the disappointment!

Liam Rosenior - knows the club, did a good job for us as a player, proven this season how well he did with Hull last year, knows Greaves, Philogene and Delap.

Palace and Spurs are very different from a culture aspect. Palace supporters and board appreciate being in the Premier League, and are willing to give a manager time and build a team.

Spurs are somewhat entitled and expect to be challenging but also play attractive flowing football, and are run by a board who come across as a little disengaged with the playing staff.

Palace / McKenna would in my mind have been a great fit, not sure at this stage of his career Spurs are the same - it's where good managers go to become average managers.
