McKenna's goalkeeping dilemma 17:56 - Nov 8 with 3214 viewsGlasgowBlue

Palmer was expected to return after the international break. Does he walk back in the team or do we stick with Walton.

That wonder save aside, I think we are far more comfortable playing out from the back with Walton in goal. But I think Palmer is the better shot stopper.

On balance, I'd stick with Walton.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

Think Walton is better personally, especially under crosses.

Altho not his strong point. Walton is better at set pieces. With the ball and potentially getting play moving.

Palmer is a strong shot stopper

Based on the fact that we minimise the number of shots at goal and probably will do further as the season goes on I think we stick with Walton.

Stick with Walton until/unless there’s a reason not to.

Would be quite ironic if Walton was our goalkeeper in a season we get promoted to the Premier League due to an injury to the number one.

Walton has done nothing wrong in the games he’s played, he keeps the shirt for me. Palmer will have to wait his turn, he shouldn’t expect to walk straight back in especially how Walton has been. Walton has had to wait patiently in the past, think it sends the wrong message if Palmer starts the next league game.

Least we forget. tw years ago, Walton was regard as the 'better' keep but Hladky did more than enough to warrant his first choice status all season. I suspect KM will do the same again here.

They're keepers of equal quality so suspect Walton will stay in.

I think Walton's done enough to hold his place. Not much between them really is there? Walton's footwork seems to have improved a bit.

I guess Walton has had more experience playing that any way having had a whole season of doing it with us

Palmer is a better all round keeper but then again we had the same thing with Hladky and Walton perhaps ironically

Will we have the dilemma next season if Muric comes back or will we sell him and try and find a PL quality keeper (assuming we do go back up)

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I'd stick with Walton even if it's just because he likes to distribute the ball out of our box much quicker.Palmer slows the game down too much

Yes. Palmer seems to hesitate and gets caught in two minds waht to do with the ball. that both slows down any chance to attack with pace and puts us under unnecessary pressure.

I feel more confident watching Walton start. He’s doing very well, and unless he has a poor run of games should stay in the side.

I think at the moment we have to stick with Walton. Getting better with every game, not done a lot wrong and the team is currently winning. Has clearly worked hard as looks a lot more comfortable and assured with ball at his feet. Solid on crosses and a stunning match changing save today.

Keeper is a position where I think you get better and more confident with a run in the team. Walton has done well (poss Charlton aside) since getting the shirt, so he should keep it.

We have mostly looked better with our passing at the back with him too.

Sadly don’t think either are the solution if we go up.

Stick with Walton. We need as settled a defence as possible and Walton’s been ok

He was flapping everywhere for half an hour at Loftus Road.

As opposed to Palmer who doesn’t even get close enough to it to flap.

Personally I think Palmer will return although he possibly may have two wait a couple of weeks on bench. Walton was superb at Swansea but the QPR game not great at crosses and maybe should have done better with initial shot .
