All this just for the CEO's ego and wanting to meet Nigel Farage by Blue_Order 26 Mar 18:45
Ashton threatened to “finish” our fans group for displaying ‘unauthorised banners inside HIS stadium’ during a recent meeting.

He was shouting and swearing at us for a good 45 minutes - we had to tell him to calm down and stop talking to us the way he was. Could tell from the (non) reaction of the other club staff present, it wasn’t the first time they’d seen him behave like that.

The whole meeting was wild and if I hadn’t have witnessed it myself, I probably wouldn’t have believed it.

If this is the end of him, then good riddance. Despite his good professional work, as a man, he’s never been fit to lead our great club.

Do you understand the hurt and upset he has caused to supporters who are diametrically opposed to the politics of hate and division that Farage stands for?

Do you understand the reputational damage Ashton has cost your club?

I have supported Town since 1974. I have had the pleasure of seeing us win the FA Cup at Wembley and the UEAFA Cup against AZ Alkmaar. I've seen us relegated, promoted, relegated again, promoted again etc etc.

Ipswich Town FC plays an important part in my life. When the final whistle blows on a Saturday afternoon, win lose or draw, I can't wait until the next game to do it all over again.

I've been taking my boy to Ipswich games since he was six years old. Just as my late father did with me in the 1970's. He's a grown man now. Living away from home. Driving down to norther away games is a rare chance for us to share precious time in a shared passion.

In 52 years of supporting Ipswich I have seen highs and lows, but I have never been so utterly embarrassed and ashamed as a supporter and fan until a far right racist scumbag hijacked my club's badge and colours in order to promote his hateful politics. And that is on one man alone. Mark Ashton.

Most of us on here bleed Blue and White. It's as if poison has been injected into our veins and we have been infected. That is how much my club and your club means to me.

I suspect some of them have absolutely no idea of how or why people are feeling pissed off. There’s some very strange posts on here with all sorts of logical fallacies flying around. And the common theme is they’re all criticising the fans. It’s very odd. It’s the club that has questions to answer not us fans.

Cracking post, agree with every word.

I actually feel quite sorry for those who don't understand the anger and hurt this has caused. It must be sad not to have this connection to the club that you don't feel furious to have been treated with such distain by the club.
