I am pretty horrified to see the name of Paolo di Canio mentioned all over this site. I endured (just about) the appointment of that thug Roy Keane as our manager, dragging the good name of this club through the muck, but if the club appoints a self-proclaimed Fascist to sit in Mr Robson's seat, I'm done, I'm gone.

Think of a manager you'd hate to have here and that will most likely be the one!

I'm always amazed at how much support there is for managers that are clearly past their prime (as was Jewell) : Curbishley? Don't make me laugh : he knows that his time was long ago ; McCarthy? another Jewell ; Burley? see Curbishley ; Mills ? would bore them to death like he does the Radio Suffolk audience ; Butcher? has been generally rubbish with a couple of better seasons at VERY low quality clubs. We should offer Poyet and Taricco whatever they want.

who ever comes in needs to kick the backside of a lot of player in the squad. Sad days when players fail to player for the manager and the club becomes run by them. I don't think there will be a long list of people for this job especially when they have seen how the CEO and owner have behaved in the transfer market and like 99% of fans have said it just wasn't Jewells fault but a mixture of all 3. Whoever gets the job good luck to them think they are going to need it with the 2 clowns in charge of Town

Nicky Forster has a brilliant win percentage as manager at a very low level, also an ex town player Ivan Campo, he's defo got the right attributes to take into management and I'm sure he knows some great coaches to bring with him

manager is not the ultimate answer, would favour a new approach in 3 steps modelled on WBA & Swansea . 1 appoint a director of football (klug?) 2 decide on the style of play and goals for the team e.g. stabilise season 1, build season 2, play-off challenge seasons 3-5. 3 appoint a new manager who will play football based on 1. Any future appointments then bring some continuity! How about Frank Yallop, 2 MLS championships, MLS coach of the year award, not sure about his style of football though...

Redknapp to broker deal to bring Sherwood in with compo payment going to Spurs. Young manager to build young squad and giving 3/4 year contract rather than 2 years seen previously.

The fans will need to back them no matter who is appointed. We can't have the nervous atmosphere of recent games. Jimmy Bullard anyone? Lol

Whoever comes in needs to be the sorta chap who can motivate and train well, but have a nasty streak toward the board when they make life hell for the gaffa. I want a boss who will rely heavy on his scouting network, and bring in players no one has heard of, but become huge success stories (Rueser, Hermann, Wilnis) instead of mercenaries... We need a man who knows Ipswich for what it is, what it's worth and how proud it is to be a part of. I almost feel it's time to give Burley another roll of the dice, with Matty Holland/Mick Mill as Assistant As long as we don't give him money to spend (which suits clegg nicely) he will do great

Please please please stop going on about Hoddle. The man has never done any bloody thing since Swindon. Everyone who has taken a punt on him since has got rid of him including England.. If he was any bloody good surely someone big would have been in for him ages ago. Personally a bright young manager would be great but we do not have the time dropping down a division could be a disaster who ever is managing us. We need a big charactor who will command respect and knows his way out of this division. Mick Mc Carthy fits that bill, Mick Mills said good things about him last night. Mills may not be up to being our manager or anyone elses but he knows what it takes to get a club successfull again.. Maybe Billy Davies but there may be a reason why he is a bit of a hot potato as he does not stay anywhere long.

Just for the fun of it - sign the Southend manager to see what Moshni does to him - or vice versa. It's a real shame Eddie Howe has just gone from Burnley back to Bournemouth as he is a top young English manager who both knows a good player to buy - and who can bring the best out of his side. He was not widely blamed for poor shows at Burnley by the way. I think it HAS to be a proven manager with us bottom of the league. No more taking chances.
