The village of Somersham in Suffolk. Rough as guts! Bramford is just as bad, along with Claydon come to think of it!

Yeah Sommersham, I heard somebody parked on a yellow line a few years back!

Jubilee Park certainly feels pretty crap

I went to the Labour Club for a quiz and it had razor wire all round it

As I left, I was informed the nearby house was a crack den

This was before I had even heard of the Postcode wars between J-Bloc and Nino

I must admit there are parts of Chantry which I didn't realise Ipswich had until I drove through them on a driving lesson

Greenwich had a vibe to it also but it's often a perception issue

I had never heard of Jubilee Park so I just googled it to see where it is-not far from Portman Road seemingly.

I don't live in Ipswich but I know where most of the other areas mentioned are but never heard of Jubilee Park.

This question aged me. I remember when people said they lived "over Stoke"

That bit in town where they put those bumpy stones in.

Years ago there were bumpy stones.

Then they took them out at great cost and laid tarmac.

Then smooth tarmac wasn't fashionable anymore so they paid a lot of tax-payers' money to scrape it up and replace it with bumpy stones.

There is Stoke Park and Old Stoke. Two different areas with Maidenhall sandwiched inbetween them.

That's interesting for me as I didn't know that.

I went to school at Stoke High, and for a time lived in Stoke Park, when it was still reasonably new and shiny.

Wasn't aware the other side was once known as Stoke too but makes sense really now you say.

Edit: Allan Hunter lived close by on Stoke Park when I lived on Belstead Road.

Walked to school with Lee et al, his eldest. No one cares, just saying...

So many dodgy areas if you don’t know the areas, or aren’t street wise.

Many women I speak to Have said anywhere along the norwich road area would be no go after dark, obvious reasons... In fact anywhere in the town centre after dark. The place is a fcking hole full of hooded (gentleman of a certain appearance) the newspapers are full of ‘attacks’ or ‘assaults’ of this nature.

In broad agreement with this.

Greenwich is rough, but is a bit mad, as it's a fairly large housing estate that isn't really near anywhere apart from Pipers Vale and the sewage works.

As a teen in the mid 80s, it was...and in reverse order.

3. Whitton Estate
2. Chantry.....bird names roads, (Kings, Kingfisher pub had bad rep, there was a nasty stabbing there in the mid 80s) the flowery name roads, not quite as bad. Nice girls from Chantry.😜
1. The dubious honour goes to.......
Queensway area, Nacton estate, thankfully I had good mates round there, so I was cool with the local lads.

Special mention to Selkirk and Renfrew Road areas of Rushmere estate.

Couldn’t tell you today the roughest part. Whitton has a better image. I would guess Jubilee Park area has bad, bad problems. Glad I don’t live in Ipswich now.

Jubilee Park, although a special mention for the row of house right in the centre next to the Willis building which for my money must constitute the worst street of houses in the Town

There used to be a few rows of houses where that car park is, but were knocked down with intention of piling the civic drive dual carriageway right through middle of town. Plans were opposed/halted and a car park put in the space where the houses were.

Result is a really out of place row of houses.

This. It really isn't a bad place at all, but has a high number of old estates which have had their issues over the years.
