Is today the day? on 10:34 - Sep 3 by hype313 | Who knows really, we are all just going on what other people have said, but clearly there was unrest last season with the constant chopping and changing and his record after Xmas was a sackable offence regardless of player breakdowns. |
I guessed at the time he wouldn't be sacked because technically we still could've made the play offs and there was unlikely to be a clause in his contract about the season being stopped because of a pandemic, war etc. Obviously Evans could still sack him but presumably it would've cost him a lost less if there was a clause about not making the play offs and we'd played the season out without reaching them.

It is so fooking enervating innit. I can deal with us failing at promotion, and have defended Evans as an owner up to a point, but as Hypers says this current nonsense takes the biscuit. I'm pretty rubbish at football strategy but could see pretty much from October last year that Lambert was fooking it up. He has done nothing to change my views. We are dead in the water with him managing us. To me it's so unequivocal that he is an inept manager, and you don't even need to believe anything about player unrest or man management to see this glaring reality. Ffs Evans, try watching the fooking football or employing someone who does watch and oversees our manager, someone who gets the teeniest thing about selecting a team. What the fook are they watching?! ffs EIDT: for clarity, I can deal with failure to get promoted from the Champ, not League fooking 1 or at least not in the way Lambert has overseen. Great and peak Ipswich? Not sure those two belong together. What would be peak Ipswich is getting to a stage where it's bad enough that it's 50/50 whether he's getting sacked and then Evans backing him.

Didn’t that already happen in January?

I was just about to say the same. It happened in May 2019 after taking us down without a fight and again earlier this year after a prolonged run of pretty much relegation form and cluelessness on the pitch.

Is today the day? on 10:32 - Sep 3 by SuperCoops | But if you look at the details of most sackings, the firing club have 99% got a replacement sounded out and lined up to minimise disruption. You don't sack a manager and then have weeks without a replacement ear marked, it would be potentially be hugely damaging. |
Or let a manager walk out the door in March time and wait until June to get his replacement only to interview pretty much every manager who has gone on to success elsewhere while we picked the one idiot who was a fraud!

Is today the day? on 10:32 - Sep 3 by BrixtonBlue | The stories have only come out since they returned. Maybe the lack of engagement during lockdown was the start of it and it's all come to a head now? Certainly, just after the season was ended there was no evidence then that he was expecting the sack. In fact there's been lots of talk of learning lessons and things being changed for the new season. |
That's what I don't really get - when season was ended offically it was all quite bullish from all parties that we will go again with PL. But actions from ME since then show that things have changed dramatically. Who knows what goes on in MEs mind To me, it felt as though things weren't great but were ok enough on the whole, but since the return it's gone off the scale

I'd heard credible stuff before lockdown in terms of Lambert's relationship with the players.

ME, from what I hear, is all over Lambert with regards to wanting rid of squad rotation, wnating a 433 and wanting passing football and is dictating things like that openly. A sign he's lost trust?

That's a pretty much unheard of level of intervention from ME isn't it? If he's getting that heavily involved on the football side as a non-football man then he must know something is badly wrong with Lambert's management.

My god. If you could think of one more thing to make the situation at Town even worse, it would be Evans going full Ron Noades. A sign he's fecking clueless.

Appoint a bloody manager who’s know for it then not a manager, who’s known for playing high intensity direct (not long ball) football. Evans has to hold himself accountable at some stage, it’s the only way you grow.
Is today the day? on 11:42 - Sep 3 with 1122 views | Parky | Let me say first, I really hope this is true. However, looking at the blokes previous tweets; despite what he has said about MM and Hurst, he really hasn’t “broken any news”. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there is some stuff going on behind the scenes in regards to a lost dressing room, players not trusting Lambert etc, but this seems a bit premature to me. I’m staying in the Novotel where Downes and his missus have been staying, but didn’t want to be that guy to question him about anything. Could have got some proper def info. Apart from Phil’s one comment, no other reliable sources have mentioned Lambert is even remotely close to being sacked or leaving. Lambert has recently bought his house outright and is very settled here in Ipswich, so whether he’s manager or not, it appears he’ll be staying local. Just to reiterate my stance, I hope Lambert goes sooner rather than later, so we aren’t left scrambling for a manager in peak sacking season, but I just feel this guy on Twitter is purely looking for attention (which has worked). Anyone claiming "def info" on Lambert..... on 11:43 - Sep 3 with 1111 views | Bloots | ....getting sacked in the near future is hardly making a bold prediction. It's like predicting that the weather will be a bit "mixed" or that Dolly will have an argument on an internet forum.

I personally don't believe that for one moment. ME is not that kind of person and I can't imagine he'd get involved in footballing matters - especially as he openly knows football management is not his forte. He doesn't strike me as a person to get involved in tactics and playing style. Utter tripe to me.
