We'll have to take your word for that. Beside the point though, you're clearly a Tory desperately trying to tar all of Labour with the antisemitism brush. The Labour Party is actually full of very decent, non-racist, people.

I’m Jewish, do you doubt my heritage too?

No problem with any of that but Corbyn has now been suspended for pointing out the scale of the problem was "overstated" by political opponents and some media. It self evidently was.

Today was probably not the day to argue the numbers.

I think it’s people’s distrust of the establishment that is the key barrier here.

I don’t think it should be Corbyn, as much as anything so that people get past the idea that this is a personality cult, but as soon as someone can step away from the establishment and start pushing these policies (and harsh criticism of the underlying problems and previous failures) then they’ll get the support to be a force.

Like a Rashford but looking at the systemic/structural problems and solutions and not just the short-term fixes (however worthy they are).

There is too much baggage with Corbyn and the traditional left which will result in a percentage fearing them, a percentage dismissing them and a further percentage undermining them. It needs to be someone young who has not been tainted by the Westminster bubble, who can energise the electorate and drive the message home whilst sounding like one of the people rather than lecturing.

The EHRC found it guilty today of antisemitism therefore it's not entirely full of non-racist people as clearly there are some racist people in the Labour party.
All I'm doing is defending those people who have been on the end of that racism, if you want accuse me of that then fine I'm happy to be found guilty

I obviously didn't say ALL Labour members are non-racist. There are bad apples in all walks; as a Tory you'll know this only too well.

You're not just defending people who have been on the end of racism, you're trying to tar Starmer with it (of which there is literally no evidence).

And the fact that you said Labour supporters are by association anti-semitic in another thread, is disgusting.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Trouble is we'd have to wait a few years for him to complete his football career! Wouldn't be surprised if he goes into politics when he does tho, rather than football managership.

So yet again he's shilly-shallied round instead of coming out with a firm and unequivocal statment when it was needed, and thereby just shot himself in the foot again. This has been exactly the problem all along - unable to be strong
(in the right kind of way), decisive, or get the timing right.

At least this time it's just himself he damaged, not the Labour Party too.

There was a poster on here who once said that until they saw evidence to the contrary that Jews were not over represented in the the media, economy, government or other societal institutions, they would keep an open mind.

Can you remember who that poster was?

No you don't. It literally would not make a difference what is presented to you.

And vice versa. The only difference is that I don’t deal in accusations and narratives but evidence to try and establish some objective truth.

My position is that antisemitism exists in the Labour party and many of the complaints are undeniable. These need to be adressed and the guilty parties expelled or even prosecuted if that goes into hate crime territory.

I simultaneously know that there has been a smear campaign to exaggerate incidents and the actual extent of antisemitism in the Labour Party. This has been happening for years to pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel individuals and movements, and it’s also a tactic to discredit that we can see against any progressive socialist movements. This is worldwide and only been ramped up in the past 10 years or more as support and criticism of socialism, capitalism or Israel’s government has become more and more entrenched.

Now you may think I’m wrong but let’s see your objective facts that go against that.

Get your archivist to post the quote, thread and context if you want to revisit old ground. Get them to look up how many times another poster told us all that today's report would reveal a party riddled with institutional racism while they are at it.

Ps uppies from Paz, you must be so proud.

Although you are saying Rashford with tongue in cheek, the issue with him is a ‘champagne socialist’ route - to says things need to be fixed in terms of social inequality when having millions in the bank just rubs people up the wrong way. It’s why he can’t really go beyond fighting strands of inequality to the heart of the problem. And if he gets too close to the matter the right wing press will start the mumourings of millionaire footballers getting taxpayers money to pay for something they could afford themselves ten times over etc.

"Institutionally antisemitic”. This means that the party’s mechanisms, procedures and institutions lead to racist outcomes against its Jewish members.

That is what the EHRC found.
