Corbyn suspended... (n/t) on 16:44 - Oct 29 by Meadowlark | Decent opposition is not permitted, or have you not noticed? As soon as we start to get close, the establishment orchestrates the situation to prevent it. This time around they are also starting to dismantle the system so that there is no chance of any future change that might be beneficial to us all. It's difficult to see a way back from this situation without a revolution. |

Corbyn suspended... (n/t) on 16:38 - Oct 29 by Ewan_Oozami | And vice versa of course... |
See above. But it’s really a false equivalence and not backed up by how the Labour centre and right behaved throughout Corbyn’s leadership. Comparing the actions of “corbynista” trolls and loons online* with how actual senior party officials, the deputy leader and many of the MPs sabotaged the party and briefed against its leader is way off. *There’s no shortage of centrist goons either online. Just that the actual lack of unity at the heart of a party and in its immediate sphere is the key point.

Corbyn suspended... (n/t) on 16:43 - Oct 29 by StokieBlue | "Red Tory". That's the unity displayed by a large part of the membership after JC became leader. If you weren't 100% with them you were against them. SB |
The membership yes. Because they were aligned with Corbyn and his policies. It was the Labour Party structure that was unaligned and made a point of moving further away too. I really thought Starmer could make that work as leader and bring that unity. I should have known better. Now, I can only hope they suffocate in their bubble. Either to be re-launched as a left wing party or be supplanted by one by 2024.

Are you talking about decent opposition just within the Labour party or decent opposition generally? If generally what's decent about racism or are you saying the EHRCs findings are made up?

Corbyn suspended... (n/t) on 14:49 - Oct 29 by BloomBlue | Try talking to a Jewish person and ask them if they think the same. I don't think it could be more damning for the Labour party a party which apparently prides itself on being a broad church when clearly it's not. But you're happy with it obviously, each to their own |
I know left wing Jewish people who voted for Corbyn as clearly he wasn't an anti-Semite.

As with all things that may or may not be deemed to be offensive I would say that the context is, of course, important. Once an official independent review has found clear examples of discrimination then I like to see that review acted upon. In line with this I applaud Kier Starmer for his actions today. It happened to Wilson, then Foot, and now Corbyn. Once you have stepped too far 'left', the establishment will see to it that you're smeared and considered 'unelectable'. But you're one of the press's puppets, seeing as you simply parrot everything you read in the right-wing media.

Don’t think you’re best qualified to pull that one. Just getting a bit bored of sweeping statements that are evidently factually incorrect.

What the hell difference does that make? I know plenty of coloured people who voted for Boris because they know he's not racist, but you'll say he is. Just because a few people voted for someone doesn't mean they aren't a racist Talk about left winger sticking their head in the sand

Maybe not a full-on revolution. But certainly we need to stop expecting the system to provide an answer to its own failings. That’s sort of insane. It’s something that in Scotland people have realised over the years without the jingoistic, flag-shagging nonsense that gets too many people in England defending their idea of the UK rather than their own interests. Left unaddressed but then exploited, that disillusionment and disenfranchisement gave us UKIP/Brexit and the current government that’s been given carte blanche to fail the population even more and make the underlying systemic problems even worse. Ideally, someone or some movement will develop from Rashford’s stance that attacks the systemic failure of the UK having 4 million children in poverty and rising. And something that underlines the culpability of successive governments from the 80s onwards rather than lazily blaming just the Tories.

Well you made the assumption first my man. I see you ignored my post asking for evidence of how the left has a massive anti semitism problem earlier though. Boris Johnson has continually used racist slurs and proposed we blow up families of refugees. But all cool. [Post edited 29 Oct 2020 17:16]

Again, I ask, how is someone who has protested racism for decades somehow a closet anti-semite? That’s the dot I simply can’t connect. Third time asking on that front.
