Need a new TV series to get into - Sky, Netflix ideally as Amazon is fiddly 11:39 - Nov 10 with 6636 viewsitfcjoe

Or Disney Plus.

I just can't find something that really gets my attention at the moment, might be an attention span thing but nothing is grabbing me.

Annoyingly I started House of Cards, and when I was back on Netflix main menu it advertsied the last season with some huge spoilers in it which has really annoyed me.

Of those not mentioned:
Russian Doll - They're doing a season 2 at the moment. Dark and funny.
The Sinner - 3 seasons of this. Dysfunctional cop being dysfunctional type thing, but in a good way.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions....I'll try and deal with most below:

The Spy - Looks really good, have added to list

Queens of Gambit - mrs spoke about that earlier so will watch that one with her whilst waiting for The Crown next week

Hatch - even though you didn't answer question i watched and liked both The Sister and Honour, Des didn't grab me though...!

The Fall - Watched that, others seem a bit long running

Mandalorian - Am tempted by this but not got round to the last couple of movies yet so guess they should be done first!

End of F'ing World - Have heard good things, and kudos for including trailer. I will stick that at top of list as short episodes helps

Not Ok With this - I started but didn't like

Designated Survivor - That can go onto my not really concntrating when watching list

GB - Not massively into sci-fi as goes off a bit far for me, like look of Umbrella Academy. Not watched anything Marvel ever, but think I'll have to sson as my eldest is desperate too

Last Dance - AMazing

Homeland - I got really far with this, but lost it when moving Sky Boxes, can't remember where I got to but would like to pick up again at some point

Girl/Haji - Just found a bit hard to follow with subtitles, I know that makes me a bad person and lazy

Gomorrah - See above

Ozark - Too big a commitment curently

This is us/Dead to me - I've dipped in and out as wife watches so hard to do on my own

Rake/Cardinal - I'll add to the list

Deutschland - I watched first one and wasn't for me sorry

The Sinner - watched 1st series with Jessica Biel, where does it go from there?

Russian Doll - Another one for the list with Mrs

Mindhunter - Will add to list

If you can’t deal with the subtitles, just take an evening course at college to learn Italian instead.

It’ll be worth your time, I promise.

Seconded.

I don't watch a lot of TV but this is far and away the best thing I've seen.

A bit different to other recommendations, but I love Storyville on iPlayer, which is essentially a curated set of the best documentaries from around the world. Most are 60 - 90 minutes and heavier content, but some are more light.

You can pick and choose those that are interesting. There’s a good one called The Two Escobars, about crime and football in Colombia in the 90s. I also recommend Scandalous! The Tabloid that changed America and OJ: Made in America.

Amazon is worth looking into, whilst their assortment of licensed shows is somewhat lacking I have much preferred their original programming over anything on Netflix. Netflix have really dropped the quality on a lot of their shows lately in a bit to build as big a catalogue as they can.

Bosch is excellent
The Expanse is excellent
Sneaky Pete is excellent
The boys is excellent
The man in the high castle (see another post on here today about that)
James May in Japan is actually quite good (his solo documentaries usually are)
American God is Decent (It has Season 2 disease)
Hunters is decent and
Hanna is fairly good too.

I've not bothered with the last films either. Skip them and watch the Mandalorian.

Also, watch Hamilton on Disney+ if you haven't already.

Mindhunter x 3 - watching it now, superb.

I liked 'Unsolved Mysteries' on Netflix as well. And of course, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Sunderland 'til I die is worth a watch. So's this football drama written by Julian Fellowes that I can't remember the name of, about Darwen in the 1900's and their signing of two professional players from Scotland.

The Mandalorian works well as a stand alone so you dont't need to have seen all of the films at all. It's set just after Return of the Jedi but well before The Force Awakens.

On BBC iPlayer I just watched the Informer which I thought was excellent. On Prime (I know...) Jack Ryan is definitely worth a watch if you like that kinda thing, two series and both very gripping.

I've also just started watching Lucifer (on Prime) which has grabbed me.

I've just binged watched 'Better call Saul' on Netflix - which is kind of a prequel to Breaking Bad. Ties up a lot of the back story and characters from the latter.

Also Cobra Kai on Netflix - Karate Kid fans from the 80's may like it.

Ah yes, forgot Cobra Kai.

The acting is iffy, cheesy storylines and quite predicable... but despite all that it's bloody brilliant!

Second this.

Succession (sky atlantic) is the best show I've seen in a long, long time. Utterly brilliant and frequently hilarious, the characters are hideous and insane, and the script writing is so sharp. Cannot wait for the third season.

Billions is very good too, falls a bit short of greatness , but a very entertaining, watchable show. The new season might actually be the best yet.
