Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? 21:43 - Nov 24 with 5800 views | radiogaga | Surely a matter of when at this point, given the context/ importance of this season and the manner of last season's fall away. Cook for me, although I have serious doubts whether he'd really want to come here.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 21:54 - Nov 24 by MrTown | Another good option. Would certainly remove the soft underbelly at the football club. |
We've removed the soft underbelly at the club loads of times under Evans now. All's left is an emaciated skeleton.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:46 - Nov 24 by SomethingBlue | Danny Cowley, who I note said very little when invited to comment on Town on the Quest highlights prog on Sat. Am sure he'd be up for it. [Post edited 24 Nov 2020 22:47]

He was on with George Elek of NTT20 pod on Saturday, George spoke about him on this weeks podcast..... Him and his brother both get an ifollow for a different game across the divisions each time any are on, and they phone each other at half and full time to give each other a full breakdown of what has happened in each game. George said that DC loved being on Quest because they can sit and watch every game and said he'd do it every week just for access to that studio - still at half and full time Nicky phoned him to go through in detail the Bristol City v Derby game that he was watching at home on iFollow. I don't mean to sound bitchy, but could you imagine Lambert doing that? He just doesn't seem interested in football

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 21:53 - Nov 24 by Nthsuffolkblue | Not a name I have seen mentioned before. Why did he leave St Johnstone? Personally I would like someone young and with a connection with Town who has a little experience. I am not sure who fits that bill that well. We cannot get Mogga so we need the next Mogga. McGreal? Liam Rosenior would be an idea for me but he lacks experience. Maybe someone like Christophe Berra but I notice he is still playing. Whoever it is has to be the right personality. |
If we really want somebody with ITFC connections and some experience then Shefki Kuqi fits the bill. Personally I'd settle for anyone with a track record of playing attacking football, bringing through youth, encouraging players, picking a team based on how they play rather than age or favouritism, and who hates Norwich.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 21:53 - Nov 24 by Swansea_Blue | I don't get it. They come across as big fish in a small pond, tell them like it it, let's get stuck in types. It never works with us. Didn't work with Keane, didn't work with Hurst. I'm at a loss who is next though, as the biggest problem is with how the club is run from the top. Surely that must be so bleeding obvious to everyone by now. Evans OUT for me before worrying about replacing the manager (which Evans will only get wrong again). |
That's actually the genius move of the last ten years. Successive managers have chipped away at the pond to the extent that the Cowleys are now the right sized fish for it.

Can you imagine lambert doing that for English football? No. Can you imagine him rewatching Dortmund’s 97/98 season highlights VHS with a raging semi? Absolutely.

Agree Paul Cook for me too, successful in every job. Had Wigan mid table in the championship and still picking up points despite the points deduction hanging over them which eventually arrived. Wigan would have been one of the smaller budgets in the championship too with their crowds. Cowley’s .. no thanks.. Huddersfield fans say well overrated and couldn’t cope with better players ... a la Hurst.

When Cowley's went in at Huddersfield they had 2 points after 8 or 9 games, that they got them to 50+ shows that those Huddersfield fans don't know what they were talking about

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 23:48 - Nov 24 by You_Bloo_Right | Someone who understands this “What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.” “It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up the stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him, and without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.” |
Someone that ‘just gets it’... Agree with those saying Paul Cook to lift the curse of the Paul’s, if he’s really a realistic option. I suspect not though Otherwise f*ck it, Burley

Not bitchy, perfectly valid. Paul Lambert - 21/11/20 post Shrewsbury : "I didn't wake up this morning think I had to win a game of football". Left me speechless that, and suprised wasn't picked up more (apologises if it was)

but.... they cried wolf once too often to the owner, who got sick of their demands. Might be just what we need with Evans, but will we ever find out.
