This is almost as silly as when someone mentioned that Danny Welbeck was a free agent and might be good for us a few months ago.

Eddie Howe? on 12:19 - Nov 30 with 1911 views | clive_baker | Can't believe his name is even being suggested. He's unlikely to take a Championship job I would think, so he sure as hell wont be interested in L1. He's favourite for Celtic, failing that he'll no doubt hang around for a Palace or someone like that. I believe Roy is in his last year there, whether he extends or not remains to be seen. We need a reality check of the market we're shopping in. A Garry Monk is probably more our league. The standout candidate for me is Paul Cook. I would certainly take the Cowley's though, back close to their heartland, done a good job everywhere they've been and know this level of football.

Looks as though Paul Cook is favourite for the now vacant Sunderland job, so you can rule him out, unless talks have already taken place with him on the quiet, both clubs are a little basket case-esque currently, so not a lot to choose between us at the moment I reckon its got the Cowley's written all over it or a very cheap Kieron Dyer

Perhaps going to be a case of snooze you lose re. Cook. I have it on good authority ME sounded him out in the summer. Perhaps Sunderland pulling the trigger will either force ME into taking some action or resigning ourselves to missing out on him. Would be annoyed if he goes to Sunderland as I imagine he'll do a very good job up there.

I beg to differ. Howe’s time at Burnley showed he needs time to build his team and approach. Due to the position we now find ourselves in, time is not a luxury we have. Even if we had a chance of getting him anywhere near the dugout, I don’t think we should be experimenting at this stage.
