I'm still not convinced that WFH will become the new normal.
Certainly WFH will be easier to do and will be more available to many but I still think that the majority of businesses will want people in the majority of the time. Obviously there will be companies who fully embrace WFH but at the moment I am not sure that will be the norm.
WFH 1 or 2 days a week will hopefully become commonplace though.
I guess we will see in 2022.

We’ve been told to expect the new routine will be one day in the office and the remainder WFH. Which has pros and cons. I am loving not having to drive to work in winter. That is a huge win given all the snow. And yet I miss chatting to people around the office or grabbing lunch with a colleague. Small things but they make a difference. |  |

Had this for a while and it's getting a LOT worse. I don;t actually feel alive. Everything is in a fog, and nothing seems real. The slightest task leaves me so tired out, whether it's something physical to do or some admin jobs. It could be depression but I cannot take antidepressants due to an eye condition. I try to exercise, but my body aches so much. Have music on most of the day, but it just washes over me. [Post edited 3 Feb 2021 15:52]

I find music actually enhances me.
If you've ever lost a love then you'll know that the songs you once loved turn against you and you'll find yourself discovering songs that talk about the pain in you.
I'm finding songs on YouTube everyday from artists that I'd dismissed as uncool but actually now like.
Pay attention to EricClacton when he posts as he seems to have an ear for some great music.
+ take some time to listen to the much derided Country & Western music genre as it will surprise and warm you. |  |

There is some music that really does wake me up and been trying to listen to that more. I take part in putting shows together when I can be bothered for a couple of friends' Mixcloud shows, which I do enjoy when they go on air. I often go on You Tube and have a lot of my favourites on there. Thanks for the recommendations, I will see what I can find. I feel guilty if I'm not at my desk, like I wouldn't go and watch TV or anything, but I'm more than happy to sit at my desk doing naff all. Weird mentality really. |
Ha, I know exactly what you mean. Even in the office I spend some days like that, although my job means that there are slack periods where the alternative is finding some other piece of non-urgent work to do, and then urgent stuff out of hours so I don't feel too guilty about it.
It feels wrong to sit down for 15 minutes and read something whilst WFH but I'll happily do the same thing online. At least I avoid eating lunch at my desk though. |  |

Yes, the first couple of weeks of this year were a bit flat. I actually took more time off over Christmas than I usually do but that was residual leave and my social interaction was rather limited. Think it was a case of not having anything to look forward to and then I wasn't very busy at work which I generally find demotivating.
Then we had a couple of issues and it's been full on for the last two weeks but I'm enjoying that and feel much more motivated again. The days are starting to get a bit longer too which definitely helps too even if there's a big cold spell coming next week. | |
