Just had a bit of good news 12:15 - Feb 8 with 865 viewsThe_Flashing_Smile

My dad had his cancer op today and everything went brilliantly. He was the first one to be operated on today, the cancer was removed (it was only a tiny bit) and he's coming home again same day, which we're all surprised about. Apparently he feels absolutely fine and is being well looked after - even though it's NHS he's in a private hospital with his own room, as they're helping out with the NHS being overstretched.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That’s excellent news. I have to say that the NHS are amazing. The misses has to go once a year to St Thomas’ in London for check on a condition she has and I thought that thanks to Coronavirus it’d be delayed. Nope, she was summoned, the’d put screens in the area and amended their procedures a bit but they were marvellous. As indeed they were with a good friend of mine recently who was promptly checked out for a potentially serious illness.

The NHS are brilliant and deserve peoples support, not least by doing their best to avoid catching and spreading C-19!

Great to hear some good news like that among the current doom and gloom and good to see that cancer treatments are continuing despite what some people would have us believe.

Best wishes to your Dad for a speedy and full recovery.

That's wonderful news. I've lost too many friends and colleagues to cancer over the last ten years, so hearing news of somebody doing well is always good.

Treasure every moment with him.

Great to hear. There's a few operations in the Nuffields etc but via NHS due to the Covid situation. Sounds like he's in great hands, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Hi mate,

In America last year i was chatting with this bloke about this and that and it was obvious he was about my age. He asked what I diid and i told him I’d finished. He asked men age and whistled.

He was a director of a company and clearly from his conversation and dress a very wealthy man. I asked him why he didn’t pack it in and he said it was simple. If he stopped, there would be a gap to when his health insurance would kick in at 66. The cost to bridge the gap would be astronomic so he had to carry on.

Regardless of whether he was shooting a line, I was left thinking how lucky we are to have the NHS. And that was before C-19! We are and whatever goes wrong sometimes, that is insignificant against what they do right. Amazing people.
