Phil, what's your sense of the reasons why Evans isn't pulling the trigger? Is it wanting to get a new man nailed down first? Or do you think he genuinely believes Lambert can still turn this around?

For every draw, he gets a free pass to lose 2 more games. Excited to see where this mathematics gets us come the end of the season.

Perhaps it's simply that Evans has had feelers out to potential candidates and no one of any note wants it...if the Cowleys, Cook and other acceptable targets have said thanks but no thanks, and the only alternative candidate is say Harris, a manager that Mick is now showing up and so very unlikely to sit well with our fans, then maybe there's nothing for it but to sit tight. Could still sack him of course and let Dyer caretake until the summer, but I think he'd hang fire, see where we finish and make changes in the summer. How he can keep him around after being publicly turned on by him is beyond me though...

From what I was hearing at the end of the week it was all being readied to get done. They obviously had a chat on Friday, even if not the 'big meeting', and then yesterday's result evidently must have had some impact. No idea whether the owner still believes or is just loath to pay out on a settlement and a new incoming boss.

We all know where this is going to end up, a decison finally made when it's far too late for the new manager to turn it around.

when you say "and then yesterday's result evidently must have had some impact" do you mean a 0-0 home draw against the all conquering Oxford I likely to persuade Evans that Lamberk should stay?

So to put it bluntly we need to be annihilated by Hull. A good performance and win won’t cut it as we know we won’t sustain it over a long period of time.

Based on two draws from every six games and everyone else's current form, that would put us on approximately 47 points, in about 18th place (quick and dirty calculation method).

This is such an amateurish way to run a football club.

Examine the facts, make decisions, carry them out. You can't hover your finger over the trigger, desperately hoping that things will inexplicably turn round all of a sudden.

Negligence from Evans. He should be sacked alone for the way he speaks/treats the local media, and that’s before you look in to the results/performances these last 3 seasons.

The bloke is an utter c#ck and Evans is falling for it. The sooner he f#cks off, the better.

Shoot me, I hope Hull batter us Tuesday and it’s the final straw for him.

So that's why he was chirpy in his post match then?

If this is the case, then Evans must think this result can turn it round? He genuinely still believes then otherwise he'd be gone.

I hope I’m wrong but I think it will be more than that!

Evans will tie Lamberts sacking in with season ticket renewals and probably highlight a role for Dyer/Butcher in an attempt to go for the nostalgia angle.

He’s got nothing else to offer. We’ve had Operation Premiership, more five year plans than I’ve had hot dinners, a more hands on approach, blaming FFP/parachute payments etc. The cupboard of excuses is pretty bare now!

The season ticket package release is when something surely has to give? Unless Evans is so tuned out of fans thinking that he seriously believes the majority will return - and that doesn’t tie in with the BCWYWF statement.

Someone said something yesterday that made me think.

Season ticket sales could hold up, given just how desperate people are to get back to the football.

Are people desperate enough to get back to our brand of football though - or will the realisation that sitting at home in the warm is preferable, spending £10 on iFollow where wishing to do so, is financially and health wise more beneficial then sitting at a freezing cold ground watching a team managed and ran by clueless charlatans lose 1-0 to Cambridge on a freezing December afternoon?

The social side is an important aspect, yes, but the pub is cheaper, warmer and better run.
