ffs Cook has had Lamberts team for 1 1/2 days training it wont happen over night. Yes we won the last 3 but they weren't convincing wins. I get the argument that maybe we tactics need time to bed in etc but the lack of effort, fight and passion is surely a concern? And that should surely be driven by the manager, or should be something a manager can easily install at even short notice? | |

I don’t think we lacked any fight or passion particularly.
We keep making it easy for the opposition with lazy fouls all over the pitch. We need to stop letting them off the hook so easily with the most basic of fouls under the refs nose. Especially if we’re going to press on with this back 4, as lets be honest the less they have to do the better.
Dozzell, Bishop, Harrop is lightweight and there’s nobody in there who can take hold of a game and dictate vocally or physically. I’m the absence of Judge I would’ve thought Downes would’ve come in from the start as we were a little bullied. Dozzell was nothing more than a passenger. We’ve been garbage for 2 1/2 years, we were garbage against Accrington and were again today. A couple of wins in league 1 and a change of manager aren’t going to suddenly transform this team.
Give it time. I will say I’m slightly worried Cook has only brought in Roberts with him. There’s only so much you can do as a manager, you need a good team around you and for us to continue with the same staff that we’ve had all along makes me a bit uneasy. Hopefully that will change a bit more over the summer. | | | |

And this is why it was so damaging and stupid for Evans to hold on to Lambert for so long. Cook should have been lined up to take over, at the very very latest, after the Crewe game where he’d have a week with the players. | |
