For whatever reason there always seems to be players you see playing for other teams that you just have a gut feeling will play for Town at some point in their career....
For me I always thought Paul Goddard would play for us
I also thought David Nuggent would play for us!
The other one that always stuck in my mind was Ryan Shawcross - and still think he could do a job for us at this level.
Anyone else that you were convinced would play for Ipswich at some point!

Am I right in thinking that Shawcross is now part of a very leaky Inter Miami defence? He was one a few years ago that would have been a brilliant signing however stayed at Stoke too long when his stock was high and career petered out.

defo info - I met his dad a few years back in lanzarote and chatted to him about this , his dad was in butts with some mates on the beer whilst son was at club, medical done , fee was agreed , deal was done , and he was waiting on the powers that be to put the final stamp on it and whilst he was waiting for the call from above , and getting a piss#ed off as it was taking so long his agent with him received a call and said another team wanted him and all he had to do was drive up and sign, matched ipswich on everything, hence the rest his history and he never played for town. His old man was gutted cos he loved butts wine bar .
