She's done more in her short life than you'll do in your hopefully very long life.
Perhaps it's that sense of underachievement you must feel that makes you so dismissive. It's easier to belittle her achievements rather than face that truth.

Interesting programme on the World Service earlier, suggesting that the antagonism is often rooted in fear, and that 'deniers' are often persuaded by the overwhelming evidence on some level, but too scared to face the ramifications. Whether this is on account of their own mortality, that of their children, or often just a threat to their lifestyle, the fear manifests itself as trying to shout down things that they do actually believe in. Obvious really, I suppose.
More and more people want to regress to a world that many of them never knew, and probably wasn't how they imagine it anyway. They want to get away from a world they find too difficult to understand, a world with complex scientific problems and challenges (Covid, climate change etc). A world that is so scary they make up stuff that they can intellectually cope with, no matter how daft that stuff is.

Do you honestly think what we do will make that much difference when the main contributors to the issue don’t give a s**t?
Whilst they don’t take it seriously, there is no point me even worrying about it, as my actions or even the whole country taking action won’t make a noticeable amount of difference.

Yes, I shred my paper and send it to the local rescue kennels as the dogs like it for their beds, and we put the plastics into a separate bin.
And what is uncomfortable is people on here acting as if their actions will make a noticeable difference to the issue, when in fact they won’t. A vast majority here just seems to be so easily led.
I am expecting a car park full of Tesla’s when I next come to a game, as so many of you’s take it that seriously.
