Next 5 games will tell us where we are..... 10:38 - Oct 25 with 9446 viewsitfcjoe

Plymouth (a)
Wycombe (a)
Oxford (h)
Sunderland (a)
Rotherham (h)

Playing 5 of the top 6 - what do we need to come out of that with?

I'd take 9 points now, in fact I'd bite your hand off for it!

But what does it all mean? We could lose the lot and people would say we are the best we've ever been. Quite simply good results and no longer good enough we need to win 4 out of the 5

i want us to get 5/5 so badly, not because it'll be points on the board and us climbing the league, but more just to see how much it annoys you

6 points from 5 games really wouldn't be fine, not after the start we've had. Autos would be gone and we'd need more or less auto form for the rest of the season to make the top 6.

Autos have already gone.

6 from that lot would be ok, we’d have a run of easier games where we could pick up more points.

We’re only 5 off the play offs now, if we are still only 6-9 points off after these 5 games, we’ll be fine.

MaySixth is a not really sure about us getting 6 points, less than 15 minutes before he posted 6 points would be fine he posted that we would get 5.

Few hour have past since those posts he probably thinks we will get 16 points from five games now.

I'm not a gambling man at all, but if we win 5 from 5 I might stick a few quid on us for the title!

I can assure you that it wouldn't annoy me in the slightest. I am touched that you make my feelings more important than your team winning though

No chance is 6 points fine. If we pick up that few Cook will do well to still be in a job come December. 26 points from 19 games would be unacceptable.

8 points would be a good return imo

But I give up trying to predict results, Sunderland 0 Charlton 1 cost me good money on Saturday, it's all luck :)

I said a while back I wanted to see us on 30 points after 20 games, which we’ve given ourselves a decent chance of achieving now. I wouldn’t be remarkable by any means, but given the start it would put ourselves in with a chance. It’s not just the next 5 that are tricky on paper, after Crewe we face a potentially rejuvenated Charlton away shortly after (time will tell if their result on Saturday under new management is a sign of them picking up), then Wigan away and Sunderland home.

Ultimately, as cliche as it is, if we can’t get a decent haul against teams like these then we’re not good enough to go up.

9 points minimum. Bewilders me that some 'fans' are scared of going to places like Wycombe and Plymouth. We're Ipswich Town ffs. We should be slapping little clubs like that with the investment and recruitment that this squad has had.

We should…but whether we will is quite another matter. I can see us beating Oxford but beyond that I’m really not that confident. I fear that we will get bullied by the likes of Wycombe

If we take 8 points I think we’ll have closed the gap on at least one o& 5he teams above us.

It’s tantalizing isn’t it - none of us know what is going to happen but come this time next Tuesday even8ng we’ll have a much better idea. I really hope we can win a few of these games, and think we can, but I have no level of confidence that we will! The season seems to tilt on these games.

11 points. Time for an unbeaten run.

The 6 games afterwards we play another 3 of the top 6 (Sunderland and Wycombe for the second time, plus Wigan).

Charlton away may be difficult by then as well.

11 league games left in 2021. We'll have a good idea come New Year.

That would be a shocking set of results for a team with a promotion aim.

Plymouth fan in peace here. Had a little visit of the site to see how you were feeling ahead of the game Saturday and I must say, quite amazed by the disrespect a lot are showing us. Comments like ‘slapping little clubs like Plymouth’ as well, you’re not exactly a massive club yourselves.I think you will be in for a shock. We are flying, 14 unbeaten and our better results are against teams higher in the league, who come to play football. Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford and Bolton the examples, who we have comfortably outplayed. I am expecting a very tough game and a good footballing match, I think we will just edge it 2-1. Enjoy your trip down, how many are you expecting to travel to home park? Should be about 14k in the home end.
