A scoreboard needs be no fancier than this (not the middle pic though). Possibly should have the graphic capability to do some little dancing men.

Unfortunately the West Stand is probably hardcore underneath the Pioneer.

Edit - or did we sell the old stand structure to a smaller club as was often done in days gone by?

Commented on this as well last night. Was incredibly poorly thought out.

When the adverts were red or black or whatever, the action was as clear as day. When the adverts were white or yellow, the ball on the deck got lost and it was hard to follow what on earth was going on.

Heard several others around struggling too so wasn’t just my poor eyesight.

Pretty sure that the top tier of the main stand was built on top of the then West Stand and was then sponsored by/named the Pioneer Stand in early 1980s.

A little bit like the top tier of the South stand was built on top of the then Churchmans stand.

Pretty sure that the top tier of the main stand was built on top of the then West Stand and was then sponsored by/named the Pioneer Stand in early 1980s.

A little bit like the top tier of the South stand was built on top of the then Churchmans stand.


I used to watch from the terrace in front of the West Stand, the new upper tier with room for boxes on that side was built behind the west stand without affecting use of the existing stand. Basically there are two structurally separate stands on the west side, one behind the other.

They did have a plan for a replay screen I think between the the Sir Alf and the West Stand?

Phil will know (this was years ago).

Apparently we were also planning to put a new roof on the West Stand in the Premier days, should we have lasted there for any length of time.

They also had plans drawn up to totally knock down the Cobbald and build a stand more in line with the Sir Alf and Sir Bobby

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Injury time with the clock stuck on 90 so you can't see how much time is left makes getting an injury time winner even more exciting.
