I'm sorry but the commentary is awful. With Brenner Woolley you could just listen and still know exactly what was going on; with this commentary you would have no idea.

TV commentating isn’t meant to be the same as radio is it. It’s more about commenting than giving a running commentary - which you don’t need when you can see what’s happening!

It isn't, but the 'pundit' has been talking way more than the lead. Not to mention the bulk of it has been talking about what it would mean to Sudbury if they win.

Probably because this is TV commentary rather than radio!

That said, Brenner Woolley is very good and these are far from the best TV commentators. However, not telling what you can see for yourself is the least of their faults!

They may as well be playing on shag carpet, this game is terrible - and not because of the players but the ball just doesn't roll

Needs to force himself into the game. Get into positions and demand the ball. The few times he’s had it he’s looked tricky. Reminds me of Dozzell in much of his time here - small, lightweight, and waiting for things to happen rather than taking the game by the scruff of the neck and making it happen.

I have only watched from half time, but Dobra is clearly talented and done some good things, but he has drifted in and out and doesn’t have the end product of the boy whose just been subbed. He needs games, lots of games.

Colchester’s kit. A marvel of awfulness.

A good and welcome earner for Sudbury though.

Should be bossing this game but as you say he's drifting around largely absent. To be totally honest, I've never see him do anything particularly noteworthy.

Great fixture on paper but on grass(ish) it's been quite poor. Good luck to Sudbury though.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Well, he is absent. He went off 20 minutes ago.

Sorry, that was mean. They aren’t too bad, it’s more that I just think Brenner is particularly good.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

Him and the Fulham loanee were the best players on the pitch.

It's about 2 miles from my house. The ground backs onto the old Melford-Sudbury railway line which is now a footpath. When Town have sent teams there in pre-season I've biked up and climbed up a tree and watched it from there. I was tempted to try that tonight, but I didn't fancy my chances doing it in the dark.

The pitch isn't great to play on, I played 5-a-side on it once in goal and my elbows and knees were ***ked after. There's no give or slide, it's like a stiff carpet doormat texture.

The pitch didn't even look flat, the ball was bouncing constantly even during simple 2 metre passes

My brother used to play up there every Monday night 5-a-side for a bit and he gave it up because it caned his knees so much. From anybody I know who's played up there say the surface isn't very good.

Aiye, even for Tier 8 that was bad. Everything just kept bouncing off of their feet and legs - I know it's not elite footie, but I know those lads have a better first touch than that.

Compared to previous fa cup games of such a level difference. The atmosphere has been quite low level. No horns. No flares. Just nothing

There were both (I was at the game), but presumably not caught on camera.

I thought 4-0 was a bit harsh. Missing a great chance (the header) at 0-2 and then Colchester scoring a third goal a couple of minutes later was a bit of a kick in the teeth. Aside from the third goal, all of them were annoying ones to concede.

The event was very well organised - was expecting massive queues and no chance of getting refreshments, but got straight in and they had laid on an extra burger van and beer tent which meant it was quick and easy to get food/drink.

Something I'd never seen before were the temporary floodlights, which were massive. Presumably needed because the existing ones aren't good enough for a televised game.

Agreed, but Sudbury aren’t a very good side at the best of times IMO. There’s a personal reason why I’m pleased they lost.

Sad to hear racism towards the Col keeper as well, from someone who sounded about 11 which somehow makes it even more depressing.
