I think we to take into account it was a cup game, but can we afford Toto in.. 23:48 - Nov 6 with 6490 viewsunstableblue

… the team??

I like Toto, and being at Wycombe I saw some of his heroic defending

But that was a howler again today…. Yes I know all the players struggled to get into gear today, perhaps more focussed on the league

But just few Toto always has an error in his locker

I kind of feel today it showed that our final settled selection to bring the necessary run of consistent wins is not settled, will it be:

Walton
Donacien Edmundson Burgess Coulsen
Morsy evans
Aluko Chaplin edwards
Bonne

Wasn't Burgess dropped for Toto after he had a dodgy game at Cambridge?

Yes he was… but I’ve thought he’s looked good of late… and I’m saying he doesn’t have a massive clanger in the wings waiting to happen

One of our group today was talking about the burley years and how it took seasons to get the right mix of players…. I’m not sure we want to be making that transition in league one though… we want promotion very soon… and then further build the team and system in the championship

Toto is a serviceable understudy. He shouldn’t be a starter imo.

His mistakes are often costly unfortunately.

I like Burgess as I mentioned the other day, would like to see him back in the LCB role as soon as possible. Adds balance as well.

Woolfenden was looking ok alongside Burgess but didn't stop him getting ditched - not just from the first XI but the entire squad - as soon as Edmundson was available, not that he isn't doing well at the moment. Cook's made his choice, I think he'll give Toto another chance against Oxford.

He didn't have a dodgy game, he just lost a couple of physical battles that unfortunately for him led to goals.

Does he add balance if Edmundson is looking so much better on the left?

Woolfenden is the one who adds balance but he can’t even get on the bench when 9 subs so clearly isn’t fancied.

I don’t see Toto or Burgess being good enough to step up if we go up, so you go with the one who will help get you more points in L1 this season and for me that’s currently Toto

All three, Toto, Woolfie and Burgess can still make that position their own, but I would say two of them have been at the club a long time now and neither have done it. I like the look of Burgess, strong in the air which is very important for a centre back for obvious reasons. If he got out-muscled recently, then he needs to work on strength conditioning, but that is doable.

I think he should stick with his favoured centre back partnership week in week out now, wherever he can. It’s all about partnerships and a spine of a team for me.

I think he would love to do that! It's not like he is against sticking with pairs, but they are not making it easy.

What a surprise. A POC Ipswich player who has been a key part of our good form makes his first big mistake in weeks and all of a sudden he’s clumsy no brains just an athlete and can we afford someone like that in the team? TWTD gets worse.

Exactly!

I am not saying Toto is our best player but yesterday’s team beat Wycombe 1.4 away from home a few days earlier.

We draw to Oldham who are sitting 3rd from the bottom of League 2 and Toto gets the blame.

That team should have played them off the park!

He made three big mistakes at Pompey but got away with them. The only reason this has come under the microscope is that it’s his fault we have a replay to attend.

We’ve seen enough of Toto to know what we’re going to get from him, I said it after Wycombe that we need to take the rough with the smooth of we’re going to insist on playing him. Even in that game he looked like a mistake waiting to happen and Edmondson has to cover him a few times. But he made some notable blocks and offered protection in the air.

It’s Toto, he’s been this way since he joined and it’s naive to think that’ll change.

I don’t think it’s fair to label someone racist because of this. He often posts the equivalent of miskicks and drops howlers, it could just be real recognising real.

Likewise, Toto has a back catalogue of mistakes, digging him out rather than a Cook signing like Burgess is probably another attempt to shift the focus off Cook and the collective. Despite no one seeming to be that bothered about yesterday.

I’d say that’s more typical Twtd these days than the old burning £50 notes route we still see trod on here once in a blue moon.

We just need a defence that can keep a number of clean sheets. I get the style of play does not lend itself to not conceding a goal, and it is more geared towards scoring more than they do, but we won't win enough games if we don't tighten up.

Edmundson, Coulson (with Penney) and JD (with KVY) seem to be the making of a good defence and Walton has now made that number 1 Jersey his.

It really is up to the other three to stake their claim, and mistakes can happen, but we need them to happen once/twice a season, not once every 2/3 games.

One of the most ridiculous posts I’ve seen on here.

Toto has consistently made costly mistakes in his time here, and he’s rightly questioned on that. As has Hladky been this season after a less than convincing contribution and start to his Town career. While Bonne and Donacien have rightly been lauded.

I think you’re looking for something that isn’t there, and frankly it’s pretty unsavoury.

He really hasn't. People have built a stereotype based on that early red card and a penalty several years ago.
