Good to see Dozzell and Downes prospering at their new clubs 23:35 - Nov 24 with 5842 viewsunstableblue

Good managers in charge at Swansea and QPR… Martinis going to go far… and always liked Warburton, wasn’t he in the frame alongside Hurst, would have been my pick

Good to see Simpson continue to do well

Great that Dobra is now getting game time… now playing as a number 10 at col u, who switched their system I think at got a result

Both good players. Couldn't believe how happy some fans were to wave goodbye (some on here even said good riddance) to two young players we had helped develop (although possibly also stunted under PL)

Nobody was happy about Downes leaving, you just made that up. People were semi-reluctant to see Dozzell go but the overall sentiment was that he’d do better in a Championship side.

Some people don’t think Dozzell did enough for us, which is right. Some people don’t think he’ll fulfil his potential but that was about the size of it.

Warburton was the one I wanted, and I hold my hands up pleasently surprised by Dozzell, Downes was always a good player,

To be honest almost every player that moved on is thriving at their new club.

Drinan can't stop scoring.
Sears has remembered where the goal is.
All the rest of the Col Utd brigade are performing apart from Judge who is injured.
Wilson is the Lynch pin of Plymouth's defence.
Hawkins started with goals and is now playing CB (surely his best position) at Mansfield.
Teddy Bishop's playing at Lincoln and getting quite a few assists.
Edwards is the only one I can think of who isn't really

If they’d wanted to be here, I’d love them to have stayed. They’re a cut above, obviously. But they wanted to move on, Personally, I don’t ever want to see somebody wearing the shirt who doesn’t want to be here. We’ve seen enough of that.

Although there is the curious factoid that Swansea and QPR didn't score until Downes and Dozzell respectively were replaced, and in each case it was the substitute who came on for them who scored to put the win on the cards. The previous evening Teddy Bishop was also hooked but it didn't stop Lincoln getting thumped at home without scoring, although two of Portsmouth's three goals happened after Bishop had left the field.

Andre has only started the last 5 or so at QPR, he was on the bench every week before that.

And for balance, LFW have a thread on their board about him:

The clue is in the name

Loved Dozzell and Downes. Downes my favourite player for seasons. Got shot down many time after waxing lyrical. But Downes just didn’t want to be here. And lambert didn’t play in a way that Dozzell could thrive. And he doesn’t fit Cooks system. But again a player who needed a change from the Ipswich malaise.

And that malaise, we’ll it looks like it’s not gone away. Lethargic players, lethargic fans, no fight and energy.

It must have been a shock for Dozzell coming into a new club and environment, and he had the absolute appalling Barnsley performance, which made me think he didn’t have the personality to make it…. And maybe there was a real chance he wouldn’t.. confirming valid concerns about his time at Town

But from that thread they clearly see the killer distribution he can make, and have built him up to be in the team

So perhaps the switch is exactly what he needed

Is it a black mark against Cook as some make out, possibly

They are only 4 points worse off with 2 games in hand compared to a League 1 side still targeting automatic promotion….

Colchester are 19th. What makes you think all our lot bar Judge are doing well?

I'm sure it isn't but I hope your post isn't suggesting we shouldn't have got rid of most if not all of those.

Ok re Downes, just type his name into the search and in less than 10 seconds:

"If he's good enough, then the last two poor seasons are clear evidence that he doesn't have the attitude required to play for ITFC under the new regime."

"I'm struggling to care that he's off"

"Morsy is a far better player currently than Downes"

As for semi-reluctant to see Dozzell go:

"Would be comfortable to move him on, done very very little last season."

"Flatters to deceive IMO."

"Lived of his name not his ability"

"Still wouldn't take him back"

"If anyone is stupid enough to offer any money for him then sell immediately."

Can't be bothered to look past the first page, but no, I wasn't making it up.

Football fans have different opinions about the same players. I, for one, am genuinely shocked about this revelation.

League 2 really isn't as far off of League 1 in terms of quality of teams as people think it is though. We only scraped a draw against Colchester while playing a fairly strong team in the Pizza cup.
