It was always the players, always, couldn’t you see that??

Worst Town performance since Micks last season.

One of the key runs of fixtures and we sack the manager.

NO WAY WE WOULD HAVE BEEN THAT BAD WITH COOK IN CHARGE!!!

Come on Joe?!

Very simple question?! Would we have had that diabolical performance with Cook setting up the players tonight, players HE brought into the team.

NO F@CKIN WAY

You know that, I know that, everyone knows that.

We won our last league game.

Cook has failed. We all know that.

BUT… keeping him on may have extended the season. Now it’s over and McGreal is like a rabbit in the head lights.

JESUS PEOPLE!!!

We’ve gone backwards for the last 4-5 games, Cook had lost the plot - what other than hope makes you think we’d have done anything bar lose tonight under Cook?

I find it very hard to believe that we would have played that bad with Cook in charge of the team. McGreal was on a hiding to nothing with only an hour or so training on Monday.

But with that said you have a point, sacking a manager (that many of the players wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him being manager) wasn't likely to make a positive impact on the team. I too find it hard to believe that we would have been that poor this evening under Cook.

But we need to move on and move on fast. Cooks gone, nothing is going to change that, and we need a long term replacement in ASAP. I have no idea who that should be, but if we got Lampard.....that would be funny...at least at first.

We were a complete mess under McGreal

We knew that though

Did you travel to London today and Charlton? Did you spend the time and money involved?!

Did you?!

Because if not you can f@ck off

Did you just witness probably one of the worst town performances I can remember?

And are you so stupid to not realise that if we’d kept Cook in post we had a far better chance of winning!? How stupid must you be?!

Not this season we haven't Joe.

Bolton is the only one I can this that was worse than this. This was a 2-0 thrashing.

The sacking of Paul Cook obviously had an effect on the team tonight in a negative way. How the hell McGreal sorts this out for Saturday I don't know.

But at the moment (with the benefit of hindsight) the sacking of Cook, at this point in the season, looks like it might me a big error of judgment. We need a new manager (long term manager) in ASAP.

Sorry, no, tonight is not what a team looks like when they've been well drilled for several months by a top coach, nor what it looks like when you've expertly signed 19 great players to fit a system perfectly. The idea that McGreal has ruined things when his sole contribution to this evening will have been picking the team is ludicrous.

Stop embarrassing yourself - You could be saying all of the most logical things in the world about ITFC right now, but the truth of it is, you're treating other posters like those yobs did to the players at the end of the match.

You know damn well a lot of people on here were in a "paul in/paul out" purgatory.

Calling other people idiots and telling them to "f off" in a fit of rage is patently stupid.

What on earth are you talking about?!

It’s quite simple

I, and 3400 blues spent time and effort to support our club

And our chances of wining were reduced by sacking the manager at this point

End of, no question, without a doubt

That was appalling tonight

If you weren’t there to see the horror… can you comment?!

Although he maybe over the top. You have to be a little bit in denial if you think that team would have performed like that for Cook and his sacking hasn't had a negative effect on the team.

You could of course argue that says a lot about the team, but the point still stands.

If only that could explain laying down and having our tummies tickled by Rotherham, or conceding five at home to newly promoted Bolton, or being done over by two under 21s side, being held at home by two League Two strugglers...

Cook was abysmal here and if tonight's performance had played out under him I wouldn't have been at all surprised. As I said before I'm surprised that he wasn't given at least Charlton, if not Charlton and Wigan, but would things have been that different? From experience, not by much.

There's a chance we would have lost 2-1 under Cook instead...maybe?

Its the wrong time to judge anyway. We don't have a permanent manager yet. If the board drag the decision out etc and we lose 3 or 4 weeks because of it then we can start to accuse them of poor planning and prep work but at this stage I'm not sure there's really anything more to say

I suggest logging off for the night and taking a break. You're not in a good place either by the sounds of it.

I think tonight is the lowest point I can remember. That feels worse than watching us lose 5-0 at Selhurst under McCarthy or anthing in our relegation season.

But the sun will rise tomorrow and its a new day. Life goes on. My love for Town is dying a little bit because well, we don't get anything back from our club.

But i will always follow them because it's in my blood and it's no point turning on other fans. It does nothing.

Tonight was toxic at times between the fans. it was very sad to see as much as what was happening on the pitch too
