He was very poor, for me, Jackson was chasing the ball down a lot more than Norwood was throughout the first half and got in behind in the second half.
He won't play on Saturday but the Norwood worship on here from some is ridiculous.
SB You worry about the contracts by OriginalMarkyP 15 Dec 2021 23:57I've got it bad???
You can't leave me alone.
Norwood will play on Saturday. From the bench potentially, but he may well start with Bonne. Jackson won't. You might not like it, but that is what is going to happen.
And BTW, you brought Norwood up not me.
Why do you initial all your posts?
We already know it's you. it's ok. we love you anyway. OMP

Stoke, stokie, stokie... on 19:49 - Dec 18 by StokieBlue | Firstly, as a point of order, I don't believe I've ever called you out, I have only responded to the copious postings with which you litter the board. As for Norwood today, it was a nice header at the end of a good move involving Morsy and Bonne. Aside from that I didn't think he played particularly well, no better than Bonne and he also managed to get himself in a scuffle about something that had absolutely nothing to do with him. On another day that could have gone differently. His link up play was virtually non-existent today in my opinion. Now there could be an argument made that all you want from your striker is goals and in that case he could well be your man but I'm not sure it's justifying your gloating attitude over the last week. You'd think he was Messi from your posts. SB |
I think Marky has a point to a certain degree here SB. You mention in your post that Nors scored but didn't do certain things. Yet you did bang the celina drum and used his stats as the defence when people pointed out that celina had at the time. Misplaced passes. Let the game go by but then did something to change the game. Isn't it the same with Norwood? 2 appearances. 2 goals. Surely that shows his importance.. [Post edited 18 Dec 2021 22:24]

I did think of the posts linked in the OP when I saw Norwood was named in the starting line up and also when he scored. I think you have to admit you were wrong in the thread linked. However, I don't think it really needs the fuss that Marky has made with this thread just to stir the divide. We all get things wrong sometimes. This time you were. Norwood definitely adds something to the team that our other strikers (even players in general) do not have. I can understand why his off-field antics make him unpopular, though. It would be nice if he could sort that out.

It wasn't true though and it's still not true. Celina has roughly the same misplaced passes than anyone else in the team if you look at the stats. It's just a narrative that some have invented to justify a predetermined position. All your post was covered in my last paragraph so not really sure why you felt the need to post it. SB

I think that before this gets ridiculous, it's worth pointing out that there is a lot of selective fact using going on here. I get hammered and people say but apart from his goal he did nothing. Then I point out he put Burns away with a sharp pass, Burns crossed and Penny should have scored. That gets ignored. Its about fairness. To be fair Norwood is not everybodies cup of tea. But also the qualities he adds get glossed over as a result. Watch the body language of the players. Listen to McGreal. It's clear the players like him and appreciate what he brings. I actually think with him in the team Bonne can rediscover his scoring touch. Now, wouldn't that be good? Anyway K-Mac starts on Monday. He may not fancy him. He may love his on pitch effort and goals. He may send Bonne back. He may think Celina is a luxury. He may build the team around him. We don't know. All I care about is the team scoring goals and winning football matches. At the moment Norwood can help us do that. You don't have to like him. I don't. I'm indifferent t to him personally because I don't know him. If football was about what you were like off the pitch Holy would be in goal for Man City. But its not. https://instagram.com/stories/jnors10/2731780420538391356?utm_source=ig_story_it [Post edited 19 Dec 2021 0:39]

Stoke, stokie, stokie... on 18:29 - Dec 18 by WD19 | The bloke on commentary (I think David Connelly the ex striker) said that he was really poor. Poor movement, poor touch, linked nothing and that the new manager would need a hell of a lot more from him than he showed today. Not sure how fair that was because I did not see the game. |
That’s strange I didn’t hear that. The TS2 commentary was excellent I thought.

Isn't he rather like Nugent? Opposition fans (and players presumably) hate the way he gets at them. He is very effective at what he does. Unfortunately there is good reason why Nugent is not liked and similarly Norwood has his baggage.

Purely out of interest, and it’s a genuine question, but why actually do you end your posts with your forum initials? I assume it’s not for the reason of Azak Fever - Twitter legend 2016-2019?

I now have an even bigger question. Why did this Twitter legend thingy end theirs with "SB"? Oh, and one more, did this legend thingy get christened that name or was there some reason they chose a title that sounds like a disease?

After being ignored for the last two months he has scored our only two league goals in the last three games. He’s been on the pitch for about 90 minutes. Meanwhile Bonne is staying on the pitch for the entire game despite nothing sticking to him and constantly being offside. He needs a rest. A Norwood, Pigott front two would give us a more physical presence during the hard winter games imo. [Post edited 19 Dec 2021 9:56]

No idea who Azak Fever is but if he's doing it he's copying me since I've been doing it for over 20 years on here. Just did it and seems no reason to change. Does upset some occasionally which is most amusing though. SB

Would be interested to see that change but I have been disappointed with Pigott when I have seen him. Maybe he just needs more of a chance. Your assessment of Bonne is spot on, although his early season form did earn him a lot of credit in the bank. Oh, and since you are editing this, maybe you want to re-read your second paragraph too! I see you got there now! [Post edited 19 Dec 2021 9:57]

Hopefully the new manager will give every player a clean slate and make decisions based in what he sees in training rather than what went on early season. Bonne just looks so low on confidence. He needs to be rested and come off the bench to score a last minutes winner to get his season going again,

Stoke, stokie, stokie... on 13:50 - Dec 19 with 555 views | JakeITFC | I’m far from Norwood’s biggest fan (and I’m still not convinced that he has the all round game to be an effective weapon at the top end of this division) but I have to say that I thought his intensity really set the tone for us yesterday. Pressing from the top is something that we haven’t really done at all this year (certainly well) and I thought him and Bonne did a great job in that regard yesterday. Shirt is his to lose at this moment in time I’d say.
