I also believe there are people who cannot hold bank accounts or credit cards. But perhaps they don't deserve to be able to enjoy football either.

I believe it is to do with bankruptcy and credit ratings. A small number but is it fair to exclude them from a large part of what enables normal life? Maybe some solutions can be found to accommodate them. | |

I agree, it's just getting too expensive for companies to handle large amounts of cash - mainly because the banks will charge you a silly amount of money to even take it in the first place! This is the real issue.
20-odd years ago when we were getting 25k+ at every home game, contactless was merely a glint in some bankers eye, we all paid cash - and whilst I accept times have moved on, I just don't see why it's necessary to take the cash option out completely.

The bars in the North were already cashless. Didn't notice a big improvement in speed or ease of service.
Personally I'd rather have the choice of cash or card as I like to have a few notes in my pocket, which is probably a result of having been on the bones of my arse back in the day. Also I find it too easy to not notice my spending when just tapping away with my card, spending cash feels real. |  | | |
