FPR to be cashless next season on 18:12 - Jun 28 by BanksterDebtSlave | A slight tangent but the co op threatened to shut our account down as they suspected work payments were going in....they were a little bit right. Their business account however they want one per cent of everything going in and another one per cent of everything going out.....so essentially two per cent of everything we earn....fekkin thieves! |

That's who I used for business banking after leaving Barclays, and before being dragged off to work for The Man. They were really good too. Well, relatively speaking.

FPR to be cashless next season on 18:39 - Jun 28 by Lord_Lucan | I'm with Barclays and Nat West but most things go through Barclay's, in total we have 7 Barclays accounts so I dread to think what the costs are. We sub our SEO and a few other bits out to India and they constantly keep on about how their advice can save us money. They recently advised us to switch our banking to Tide or Metro (I don't know anything about them) but I daren't risk upsetting Barclays. Edit; What I was getting at was - have you tried those two? FPR to be cashless next season on 07:22 - Jun 28 by Lord_Lucan | I hardly ever use cash, most of the time I walk around without even a £ in my pocket Hooever - I think it’s a terrible idea and should actually be illegal. Yes there are people who can’t get credit cards etc due to credit situations but in effect even bankrupts can have a debit card so although that’s an argument it can be overcome. I suppose the main reason is choice. You also have many elderly people who just don’t like them, there are probably all sorts of spendaholics who don’t use them in case they go mad and rinse their own account - not to mention alcoholics and gamblers who purposely limit their spending capability for obvious reasons. There are a myriad of reasons why cash is king, on the comments section a bloke mentioned that his daughter has learning difficulties and struggles with a card. Not good IMHO. I think this sums up how I feel. Not having an option feels regressive and excludes people. Feels like financial racism from where I sit. I'm largely cashless but feel there has to be a space for those who can't.

I was with HSBC once - for a very short time, I hate them with a passion. They were so inept they ended up having to pay me £2,800 compensation.

On reflection I was just thinking that it might be an issue for our Ukrainian refugees when they use the Season Tickets.

Except nobody has the right to assume that. People allowed to have their own reasons for doing things their own way without others judging them or making assumptions.

My first thought when I saw the thread is it's none of my business what method other people choose to spend their own money. It can't be too difficult to see other people don't owe you (or me) an explanation on everything they do. Since you ask I would immediately think of giving cash to a homeless person on the street, buskers, casual labour up to X amount of hours is also fine; used to be kids putting up market stalls so whatever, if any, modern equivalent if there is one. Odd jobs, errands... There's a thread on the French admission of failings at the Liverpool game you might want to give some attention to. [Post edited 28 Jun 2022 22:23]

FPR to be cashless next season on 21:33 - Jun 28 with 690 views | PioneerBlue | If this means the bar and food service people focus on serving to speed up transactions then I am all in on this one. I hardly buy anything at itfc due to the queues. I would loose all of half time social waiting to be served. Anything they do to speed up would be great. [Post edited 28 Jun 2022 22:59]

I think the point is it shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to do both without affecting service.

FPR to be cashless next season on 13:15 - Jun 29 with 578 views | FrimleyBlue | From some of the pictures seen on twitter recently... I think there's some new screens going into the bars so you can select your drink. Pay with cars and collect it. If that's right, that's quite a good plan isn't it?

Tried to find it but can't now. But some fella was talking about the Norwich staff coming over and it was a picture of one of the bars in the sir Bobby stand with a new screen etc. I'll keep looking.

FPR to be cashless next season on 08:05 - Jun 28 by itfcjoe | I think they should keep an option open - there are a myriad of reasons people prefer cash and often to do with budgeting. When I was a student I'd take £20 out and leave bank cards at home, if I didn't save enough for a taxi I'd walk - back then though yiou had to go to cashpoints and couldn't pay on card at the bar even. If I went there now with contactless cards, cashless bars, Apple Pay etc I'd spend 5 times more - people talk about it being better for business with things like not handling cashe, people spending more etc but forget that they are the consumer. Should be 1 cash bar in each stand to help |
For what it's worth, upon the (sadly) very few occasions I have blitzed it at the races, there are few finer feelings than walking out at the end of the day, drunk, with a wallet full of beautiful £20 notes. Winning the same amount online/ virtually - yes, it's lovely, but it's *not* the same. Similar emotional vibes when paying tradesmen; I remember walking out of Natwest with £3k in notes about 15 years ago, and being pure terrified walking back up Back Hamlet; all pairs of eyes upon me. Not really sure what my point is here, other than the feel of a lot of notes is very emotive. [Post edited 29 Jun 2022 19:57]
