I mean sometimes it is very cringeworthy, but probably an element of truth to it today. As was said on their forum, probably the most famous team to ever visit.

I just think it makes us sound very arrogant.

For what it's worth I don't like it and it is often far from true when sung.

But that is the case for many football chants and they are a lot about simply creating an atmosphere.

As said, Bolton fans sung it at us last week. The majority know that isn’t the case - it’s a jibe. A bit like “2-0 to the football team” or “you’re s*** and you know you are”.

Saw a video of 100 Fleetwood fans singing it in front of 20,000 Portsmouth supporters at Fratton Park last year, which was funny.

Jesus. Lighten up.

I get why homophobic and generally offensive chants are under the spotlight now we have forums and social media.

But just let football teams sing about how good they think they are.

There's been times that song has worked.

When Town were taking apart some of the best out there.

And when Burley's side were sweeping the ball around the pitch with grace.

Atm it doesn't fit granted.

Christ alive.

I think had we been singing that to the fans of the big clubs in thus division them it’s banter , but ( for me anyway), to sing it to fans of clearly much smaller club / set up who have never been thus high in the league before is disparaging and makes us look small minded.

Thus I’d just my take on it . Of course if this forum is bit about views then I stand corrected .

I don't especially object to that chant because it is a bit tongue in cheek, but I do cringe at some of the chants aimed at small teams or their fans who have never done us any harm.
