We need a 15 goal a season striker, this guy currently averages slightly better than that at this level in a poor team. If he can get around that number, with there being goals from elsewhere, we will have a very good season. Im happier definitely if this gets done, lots of room for development at 21 and the only one potentially comparable to Ladapo. |

Very happy with this, all things considered. A great understudy to Ladapo, the right age for our model and presumably knows the area. I don't subscribe to view of needing a 20+ goal man, but we do need cover & options for that number 9 role.

Really interesting signing. We've taken on very few projects of late, looking mostly for quality proven at this level or levels above.
He's clearly ready for this division, he'll offer something different, but we're also getting him before he hits the heights and costs a fortune. Likely to also be patient when it comes to starts, which might be important.

McKenna showed at Shrewsbury he's happy to switch the strikers around if he thinks it suits the particular game. I think everyone is playing the squad game this season (except Walton). |  |

That was always one of the biggest questions about Hirst. It's a lot of money to spend on someone (at this level) if they're not going straight in as the primary striker. | |

Worth remembering Cowley recently described Joe Pigott as his Harry Kane, so probably worth taking that with a pinch of salt.
Ahadme has certainly started the season well on a personal note, for a dross side. Not least against us a couple of weeks back. His touch and movement was good, and at an age where he can keep improving. | |

I take it you didn’t go to Burton and see him bully two centre half’s, who most of our fanbase say our championship quality all game. Jackson is a very different player, who’s main attribute is pace. |  |
