Panutche Camara on 14:45 - Sep 1 by BlueandTruesince82 | Is it though? All I have read over the last 2 weeks aside from needing a striker is what if Morsy gets injured, is he not the what if? |
He's a versatile player. With 2 in the middle we're now looking at 2 from 4 with Camara and Ball, which is excellent depth. He can also operate in the 'number 10' so we've got Chaplin, Harness, Camara, Aluko (injured) there. Ahadme, TJJ, Ladapo, Jackson as a front man or even TJJ slightly deeper. It's good depth. 2 players for every position is what KM is working to.

Panutche Camara on 14:41 - Sep 1 by dirtyboy | I'm just back from the gym and seen this and that was my immediate thought... Seems an odd one in terms of position, but then we know McK talks about qualities and will use those and put them where he wants them lol! |
I think we were looking for someone who covered the Morsy role as well as the Chaplin/Harness role. He fits that to a tee.

Frees up Morsy to get a few games banned for nutting Holt on Saturday, smart business.
Panutche Camara on 14:53 - Sep 1 with 1380 views | C_Jam_Blue | Found this from an article when he was put on the transfer list. Disappointed but not surprised. That has been the general view of the Green Army to the news that Plymouth Argyle have put midfielder Panutche Camara up for transfer. The Guinea-Bissau international has decided not to sign a new long-term contract which was offered to him by the League One club. So rather than let the 25-year-old midfielder leave Home Park in the summer of 2023 as a free agent Argyle are going to cash in on him now. It makes a lot of sense from their perspective, even though it means they are losing a good and improving player who has become a fans' favourite during his two seasons with Argyle. His shooting accuracy needs to get better because someone of his ability and energy should be scoring more goals. But there have been plenty of times when his strong-running displays in central midfield, both in breaking up opposition attacks and also getting Argyle going forward, have been hugely impressive. Camara will probably get to earn more money at his next club, and it could possibly be at a Championship club. But one Argyle fan Colin Fenn offered the opinion: "It's his life, a shame we cannot meet his expectations. I thank him for his contribution in helping us have a most enjoyable and successful season. "However there is some truth in the old saying 'The grass is not always greener on the other side'." Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter Chris Errington asked the Green Army on Twitter for their thoughts on Camara being made available for transfer. The word 'gutted' often cropped up in response, given the popularity of the 25-year-old among the fanbase. But there was also a common consensus that Argyle were making the right move by getting some money for Camara, with the hope that manager Steven Schumacher would be able to use it all on bolstering his squad for the 2022/23 League One campaign.

It is but being 4th choice in his position at least gives him the platform to play in the EFL trophy and do well, a bit harder with a 5th player in there. Not against Camara per se, just wary of overloading the squad like we did last season.

Once again though, if he does well enough in training and impresses then there is no reason he should be the 5th player, he could move up the order. We need to get promoted, bias towards home grown players is going to have to be a thing of the past at the moment - we need the best squad possible. If Humphreys is good enough I am sure he will show it. SB

Panutche Camara on 15:10 - Sep 1 with 1167 views | itfcjoe | Very good addition, did feel we needed someone to join up midfield and attack like Celina used to for us as either a deeper 10 or a more pushed on 8. Was expected to get a Championship move this summer so done well to get him and sort of deal that has to late into the window.

Sometimes the easy choice for the manager is to play the player that the club invested £500k in rather than the academy product. A bit political rather than based on merit.

https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/camara-to-ipswich-500-000-unconfirmed.119604/ Interesting views ,similarities to Simpson’s situation , “last year , good money to get in and more money offered”etc . It will always be bad business good business when it comes to teams players moving on / coming in and universal it seems!

Humphreys and Camara are very different types of player. I have Humpreys behind Morsy, Evans and Ball for a CM starting place, with Camara adding to our more advanced attacking roles.

Agree, and I don't think McKenna will allow transfer cost to influence selection in response to MM - see Harper. We can't put the progress of one player above the team and there are ample good examples in divisions above where young players have found a way through in spite of squad strengthening. More players to learn from on the training ground if nothing else.

Not saying he def will, but it does happen. Harper was out of the first team picture by the time KM came in, so that wasn't really his call.

Plymouth appear to have already signed a replacement, season loan.
