What’s happened to Liverpool? 18:18 - Oct 9 with 3119 views | Chrisd | They really look a shadow of their former selves. Defensively, they look all over the place. Every time Arsenal attack, Liverpool look vulnerable. Can’t really believe the drop off from them this season and the lack of intensity, quite staggering. [Post edited 9 Oct 2022 18:19]

What’s happened to Liverpool? on 18:51 - Oct 9 with 2671 views | cbower | Losing Mane's tenacity, pace and pressing has been a major change. Missing Robertson and chopping and changing at the back. Henderson is not top class imho and doesn't move the ball quickly enough. Moreover, I am jot sure Salah still wants to be there and Firmino is no longer the player he was two- three seasons ago. Klopp has some work to do to rebuild his squad.

What’s happened to Liverpool? on 19:10 - Oct 9 with 2571 views | King_of_Portman_Rd | I think today it is all because Arsenal are a very good side.. deserve a huge amount of credit for winning in a variety of ways this season. (Much like ourselves) That said Liverpool have been bang average all season and need to find a style that works quickly, particularly with the signings they’ve made being very good players. If they’re not careful they’ll find themselves so far behind what is looking like a decent top 4 in Citeh, Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs.

People have a very weird fixation about Liverpool fans being the 'worst' given that Chelsea, Millwall and Leeds still have supporters.

I only know 1 Chelsea fan and he’s a lovely bloke. The 2 Liverpool fans I work with are absolute t0ss pots. Anecdotal I know, but can only speak as I find. They really are the most entitled supporters I’ve ever spoken to.

The missus is an Arsenal fan. We’ve just watched the match with a couple of random Liverpool fans in a bar in Funchal. Lovely fella’s to be fair and Mrs SSB is beaming from ear to ear. They both think Klopp should go the end of the season which surprised me a bit tbh. Two Town fans at the table behind us and had a good chinwag about our current feel good factor around the club .

What’s happened to Liverpool? on 19:51 - Oct 9 with 2308 views | MattinLondon | I used to have a lot of time for Klopp but last season he seemed to believe his own hype and constantly complained. Maybe he feels that he doesn’t have anything to prove and this attitude is rubbing off on the players as well.

I have a few friends who are Scousers (mainly Evertonians) but I've been to Liverpool many times & find the locals hospitable & friendly. The Liverpool fans in my experience seem to appreciate good football & will applaud the opposition off the pitch if they think they've won by outplaying the opposition. I've found the Everton fans quite chippy & defensive, partly because their team has been poor for years.

What’s happened to Liverpool? on 21:34 - Oct 9 with 1967 views | Simonds92 | They play a high intensity game and no longer have the players to do it. Havent replaced Wijnaldum or Mane, Matip and Gomez always injured. They needed to bring in a Bellingham type to play with Fabinho. Henderson is very good (disagree with the comment above) but he seems to be a bit like Ledley King the past 18 months. Basically squad needed an overhaul and it didn't happen not sure who's fault it is.

Firmino playing as well as he has for years. But the other points are valid.

What’s happened to Liverpool? on 07:46 - Oct 10 with 1448 views | tractordownsouth | The midfield doesn’t have enough legs and is a mix of over 30s and under 23s without peak age performers. And up front, Nunez isn’t as good as Mane. If Salah was still the same player as last year they could maybe get away with that but he isn’t so they can’t.

What’s happened to Liverpool? on 07:53 - Oct 10 with 1432 views | bluelagos | For me, whilst accepting LFC are not playing at the level of last season, the main thing that is changing is that other teams are playing much better against them Essentially, the pressing game,.win the ball up the field, go for the juggilar, has been adopted by countless sides. 2.to 3 years, LFC and MCFC were streets ahead of everyone in doing this. Now sides like Arsenal, Leeds, even Man U are playing this stylle. Watch Arsenal's goals from yesterday and they have LFC written all over them. Typical aggressive,.direct and very effective counters. So what was a big advantage (they had a better system) has now been copied and replicated. Throw in some off form players, some complacency, loss of Mane and LFC have gone from world beaters to mid table in no time at all. I watched one social media clip of Klopp yesterday and he sounded downbeat, like about to resign downbeat. Can't see him walking mid-season but without a dramatic improvement can see a scenario where he goes.

So a good manager should find another way of playing to beat these teams ‘copying’ them

Agree. And the same might be said of Alf Ramsey and his wingless wonders. I read about Wenger once who had the same thing. His competitive edge was shopping for talent in minor leagues. Picking up top talent for low prices meant he built incredible sides without a huge budget. Once other clubs copied them, Arsenal were no longer so much better. Is why I think LFC may have peaked,.unless he can adapt the tactics to come up with a new revolutionary way of playing. I don't see happening, as good as he has been.
