Hopefully so as we will have a lovely % sell on. But for a rugby player with half season in league 2 he doesn't half think alot of himself.

Fair play if he is.. but sometimes it's best just to do your talking on the pitch.

Yeah, no big deal. How many haven’t done that at 19 afterall?!

A number of 19 year old professional footballers have and some have in the prem too, doesn’t mean you have proved anything as you claim, Kundai Benyu played for Celtic once.

Seriously? This is like the most typical footballer tweet I can possibly imagine. We see the same with cloggers here in Canada making their debut in a semi-pro Ontario league ffs.

The only thing about this tweet that is in poor taste is how utterly unoriginal and boring it is. To make any issue out of this is at best slightly obsessive and at worst, well, chico covered that. Of course I give you the benefit of the doubt there, but this is a very odd post.

I personally don't recall seeing many footballers tweeting such a statement personally. The reason for the post is that it follows the move he made and him 'knowing' his worth. I personally find it astonishing that someone with such little footballing experience can have such an opinion of themselves let alone go so public with such opinions.

End of the day if you post something publicly it is there to be discussed.

Honestly, no one is losing sleep or thinking about you in this.

Or Simpson for that matter.

Footballers post their career progressions and wins all the time. In fact a lot of professionals in all walks of life do. In fact some even lie about their wins, you only need to look at your average Tory Party Twitter account to see this. Brexit lot too.

I can’t to my memory remember anyone complaining about this sort of thing much before.

Have you ever spent any time around professional athletes? Literally 99.9% of them have very high opinions of themselves. It's essential to the occupation. If you don't back yourself, you aren't going to get to that level.

A part-time job I used to do involved interacting regularly with (barely) professional footballers. This type of post was dime a dozen.

There is truly nothing here. If he believed coming on as a sub in the Championship was going to be the peak of his career, he would never have gotten that far in the first place. Of course he thinks there's more to come.

And how many 19 year olds are professional footballers?

He’s on a public forum talking to fans, friends, family, the public, etc.

Not like he’s just rolled up to the PFA to throw some flex, is it?

Good on him, he’s achieved an athletic milestone very few reach in a super competitive sport.

Frimley I quite like you and generally value your contributions to TWTD.
Young black players are constantly on the end of these sorts of posts from both a section of Ipswich fans on here and IRL at PR, and society more widely. These posts are unfortunately often (not always) rooted in racism, overt or subconscious. He’s too big for his boots, he’s just an athlete, he’s brainless, he can’t work in a tactical system, he’s flash etc etc.
I am certainly not accusing you of racism. I do ask you to take a moment before posting things along these lines in future. We must all work against racism xenophobia and other stereotypes and that means examining ourselves firstly.
I type this to you in good faith.

But nothing he said there was racist.

I tend to agree that Simpsons post was perfectly ok. Nothing wrong with it. But to lecture someone on racist posts seems a bit much.

It's a shame he left, he could have been a very good striker given enough time. In retrospect the grass is not greener in Huddersfield who are in danger of being relegated.

Chico himself explicitly says he doesn't believe Frimmers or the post are explicitly racist. He is just making a valid point about where these posts often come from and why we need to be careful. A point that Frimmers recognized as valid and accepted gracefully. Much like the initial subject, there is nothing to really see here, let's not turn it into a 10 pager.

Considering his age arguably he's actually had a fair bit of footballing experience. He plays in the second tier of English football and earns about 5k a week (I'm guessing). He probably feels he's doing very well.
