When a ball is played too far ahead/too hard for the intended player, and that player turns and claps or gives a thumbs up to whoever made the poor pass. He said he would be berating his colleague for the poor pass, not thanking them...and Robson would have them in his office on the Monday morning as well

I'm not sure he's right, he's talking quite a lot of absolute guff. He did get better a the half went on though.
He was a quality player but listening to him you'd think he had never passed backwards or even made a mistake.
Perhaps that's why he never made a good manager.

He's certainly not miserable on Life's a Pitch. He has a great sense of humour and a vast number of funny stories.
He was, however, in today's tribute to Bobby Robson, talking about the high standards expected of the players. He mentioned that, even though they were all great players, they spent an awful lot of time practicing their passing and control, and that there was a real emphasis on fitness.
Maybe reminiscing about those days, along with people like Chris Waddle, Paul Parker and Russell Osman who featured on the programme, brought home to him just how far we've fallen.
