His partnership with Morsy has been superb I really believe that this pairing has given cover to the defence whilst allowing much more freedom for our attacking players.

The business in January was pretty unreal with the benefit of hindsight. All 4 players have added a massive amount but if you absolutely had to pick one stand out, its Broadhead.
His touch, ability to find a through ball no one else has seen, ball carrying, finishing and use of both feet really has helped us in breaking teams down, where we would have failed to do so earlier in the season.
Fitness has always been the thing which has held him back. If we can manage him over the course of next season, I think he could be the biggest thing we have seen at this football club for a while. |  | | |

Both have been pivotal but I think the Luongo singing more so because it made seemingly Morsy a different player - not taking anything away from Luongo just saying the signing gave us two new players as such taking Luongo in isolation
Broady was / is just phenomenal at League One level - his feet are so quick .At some points I'm sure there are strips of velcro attached to his boots and the ball |  |

I have to say since changing our recruitment team we’ve had some crazy signings. Davis, Broadhead, Luongo, Leigh, Clarke, Ladapo. They chased Hirst since the summer, knowing he would be the perfect fit for us and I’m looking forward to Camara being fit and having a whole pre season.
I have full faith in what they’re doing and their judgement of how to improve us |  |

The guy is a skilful ball playing midfield player with ability, but hard as nails at the same time. Look how he easy it was for him to hold off his man for his goal, a lot of strikers get eased off the ball there.

i was probably unfairly underwhelmed due to his mediocre loan spell and his lack of game time with boro, but he's been so good since getting fit.

The only 2 games we haven't won in the last 15 are the 2 Broadhead hasn't started.

What Broadhead did was make sure we had absolutely phenomenal cutting edge across the front line. Both our No10s are brilliant, natural finishers — I mean who has that, in those positions, at pretty much any level? And they offer so much creatively too. It's no coincidence that once he bedded in we became utterly lethal. | |

Our lack our a clinical side (despite scoring plenty) was occasionally an issue in the first half of the season. Too often promising positions didn't get converted into chances or goals (then leading to inevitable equalisers), but that has been utterly solved since Broadhead has been bedded in. |  |

Not just for what he achieved stat wise.. but by signing him we were able to allow Chaplin a much higher role than he was able to enjoy with Harness. |  |

I love Luongo. I think his contribution has been nothing short of remarkable, and he's completely revitalised the engine of the squad when it was just starting to sputter. Him and Morsy have all the traits you could ever want from your CM pairing.
Likewise I think the balance that Broadhead has given us has been absolutely pivotal to our success. We have so many ways to punish teams now that it has given everyone an extra yard of space, and his directness and finishing has provided a key to unlocking teams that we historically couldn't crack.
I think you're right though. Davis is our best flying LB since Aaron Cresswell, and capable of having a similarly stellar career. Not the sexy choice, but absolutely deserves it on goal contributions over the course of the season - completely reversing our joyless set piece record which has been pivotal in so many tight moments. His numbers have been phenomenal. |  | | |

Luongo and Morsy ended up perfectly complimenting each other. As soon as Luongo got up to speed it quite literally gave our team midfield control in pretty much every game.
I don't think anyone expected Humphreys to be playing game after game being marshalled by a slightly hamstrung Morsy with the looming suspension hanging over (which to this day, I will never know how he managed to not get a yellow - insane composure and game management, especially in League 1).
But Broadhead has been phenomenal. I've said before elsewhere, but look at how much Chappers has improved since Broadhead's arrival. Broadhead can do the creating leaving Chappers to get into the shooting positions which is what he does best.

Luongo / Morsey partnership has been really important, also helped once Morsey had the restraining rope removed from avoiding the yellow card. But Broadhead made all the difference for me. His direct running, skill pulled players towards him, which gave the midfield more space. Chaplin found more space because of Broadhead.
Broadhead also gave us goals at key times, Sheff W freekick. The first goal against Port Vale, sublime, he basically crafts a goal out of a simple pass towards him, not a hard whipped in cross, a simple pass. The pass for the first against Derby etc
I've seen most of the last games, admittedly some away games while 'based VPN abroad' on Ifollow and while Luongo/ Morsey had a good game at Cheltenham away it was their least effective and I don't think it's any coincidence Broadhead missed that game |  | | |

I posted the following a couple of months ago, which was a comment on Luongo from below a Andy and Stu React video.
"Wednesdayite here, Luongo had incredible stats for us, his ability to break up attacks and get in crucial challenges is second to none, his stats in the Championship were top six, unfortunately he picked up a lot of knocks, got sent off a couple of times by over eager referees. You've got a real asset there, trick is keeping him fit."
But not only does he have this asset to his game (which can go unnoticed), he is also very skilful and great going forward, and along with Morsy has enabled us to be more effective from an attacking point of view more centrally, something I think we were lacking. |  | | |

Without him, Morsy would have had been suspended for two matches.
I know Morsy picks up the odd booking for dissent or minor scuffles but the majority of his cautions are taking one for the team because we’re exposed or out of position.
With Luongo there, those situations didn’t arise so much,
For me, the January signings of Luongo, Hirst and Broadhead were as good as anything we’ve seen since Marcus Stewart arrived mid season. | | | |
