Plymouth are champions- well done them. on 14:10 - May 7 by MattinLondon | I’m not so sure on that - they now have a reputation for looking after loan players and making them better. In the Championship they will be able to attract better loan players, but they will be more expensive to get in. Also, they have a very good manager. Not so sure they’ll be flirting with relegation. |
I'm not so sure they are going to be getting their pick of loans in the Championship, it's a much more competitive market! One that even teams like us will probably be using more prominently. I don't think a good season in league one is going to put them ahead of a lot of the other teams.

Plymouth have been superb, their resilience is to be admired with the challenges they faced (loss of Whittaker, injuries, a couple of heavy defeats) - fully deserved champions and so pleased we are going up with them thanks to our own remarkable run-in.

There are two aspects to loans. The financial and the player development (which will often impact the longer term financial ones too). Schumacher has shown the ability to select the right players, look after them and develop them. I am sure many Premier League clubs will think it is a better place to send a player on loan than many other options. As a result, they may well have more clout in the loan market than many other Championship sides.

Plymouth are champions- well done them. on 13:58 - May 7 by belgablue | Fair do to them. From this point on I no longer care about Plymouth's scoreline. |
What not even when they play Norwich? Also you never know their scoreline/result might make a difference to us in terms of us getting promotion next season.

Agreed, it will be interesting to see how it pans out but I certainly think Plymouth will be competitive and will surprise a few next season. I expect they may struggle away from home at times ( as will we probably ), but if they remain strong at home I can see them doing pretty well and staying up comfortably.
Plymouth are champions- well done them. on 15:36 - May 7 with 3417 views | Chrisd | The amount of points they’ve gained has been incredible. For me, where you finish is where you deserve to be. Today’s win at Port Vale was their 6th win on the bounce, like ourselves they were in good form heading into the run in.

Plymouth are champions- well done them. on 15:58 - May 7 with 3317 views | Herbivore | Most consistent side over the 46 games. Haven't really had a significant blip and have continued to find ways to grind out wins. Their run over the last 10 games to hold us off has been very good, especially after the way they folded last year.

We can be more classy than that. We were the better team in the last third of the season, but to hold us off despite our incredible run was extraordinary

Plymouth are champions- well done them. on 17:52 - May 7 with 2918 views | skinnybob72 | They don't score that last minute goal at PR and we win the league - incredibly fine margins when it comes down to it. Incredible consistency from them all season and they bounced back brilliantly every time they took an absolute hosing.

That's not always the case the team that finishes top is the best team in the league.I'm old enough to remember the unbelievable season we had in 80/81 Town was streets ahead of Aston Villa beating them three times over the season, and Villa being champions was a travesty. Unlike today ,Plymouth are worthy winners of the league and congrats to them

I think we would be foolish to question Schumacher, he clearly has a very good scouting network It's no fluke they are good at edging games, it's got to be down to good management Whilst I've no doubt we will finish above them next season, I don't think anyone should be writing them off, just yet [Post edited 7 May 2023 19:17]

Plymouth are champions- well done them. on 19:23 - May 7 with 2695 views | Sarge | Someone should send them this, might stop all the bleating on news stories about Ipswich or Sheff Wed asking ‘wHaT aBoUt aRgYlE?!!’ But in all seriousness, congrats to them and their weird fans, a phenomenal achievement for an excellent team. I’d rather have had our season than theirs because of the entertainment factor but 100+ points is quite astonishing and their consistency makes it fully deserved.

Indeed. They play some nice stuff and have shown they can adapt to losing key players like Whitaker. I’m a bit disappointed nobody has come out with the obligatory ’feck ‘em’ though. We’re having far too much of a love in (when I say ‘we’ I mean the board - just for clarity Herbs and I aren’t having a love-in and aren’t even in touching distance).
