and I have a feeling Warne may be interested in some of our fringe players. Could see a few being of interest to an ambitious L1 side and of course he knows Ladapo very well.

Not a huge surprise given he was essentially brought in initially as a back up league One striker, even though he done well.

So to now go into the Championship with him seems out of kilter with the way the club are planning on going "Big" this summer.

Just to add, sentiment goes out the window with this new ownership, ruthless is the key word.

Wouldn't surprise me, we need 2 top quality number 9s in the Champ and not sure he fits that bill

If he does go, he should be remembered as a massive contributor to our promotion this season.

Gave 100% every game and scored some brilliant goals.

Balance to be struck of course between disrupting the tight bond in the squad and making room for quality upgrades but as you say we'll be relatively cut-throat about things this summer.

Will be a fair few told they can go and a few others we've been used to seeing as mainstays get bumped down the pecking order.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Bottom line, if we want to aim for the premier league, pretty sure there will be some shock exits over the summer, should make a few quid as well with the season we had, and the football we played, some of them players will have increased their price tag, and had the opportunity to get better wages, so a win win really.

I think we're going to sell him. Can't see any way he'll get near the team and we could get a decent fee for him this summer. Derby are the most interested of the clubs keen though.

No issue with that, his value ought to be at its max. Throw in a sell on clause and I've no objection

He was on the turn against an onrushing Burns - no wide CB in the world going to be able to turn and keep up with Burns there....very harshly judged

And he pretty much kept up with Burns, only the earlier yellow card stopped him making a challenge imo

Agree, and that is part of the strategy. If we can't find a place for players in the squad, then we sell them for as much as we can.

Would be a v good loan option for El Miz though it would make more sense for him to Orient but any one who goes there ought to enjoy a season challenging for the POS

Would prefer to loan him to league one rather than sell him. Being pretty much the best player in league two at age 22 means he has more potential than say Evans or Ball who are never going to be above championship standard.

I think we're aiming higher than his ceiling TBH. As Phil I think mentioned earlier in the season we got into the habit of holding onto players with potential for too long and at some point they have to find a home.

Sure it's a risk but one that can be slightly mitigated with a suitable sell on, the flip side is that he may never be as valuable as he is now. Does he get near our starting 11? Even a matchday 18? If he doesn't at 22 which is when you expect to see a break through if not before, then will he at 24?

We'll continue to be aggressive with our recruitment for rge time being and I suspect that's a gap he won't be able to bridge

Phil, any indication of what we might be looking for? Hundreds of thousands? Upper end of that? £500k would represent pretty good busisness on both sides to me

I thought that would be the case the first day he walked through the door to be honest. Perfect striker for this League (as he’s proven elsewhere), but has never quite cut it in the Championship.

A lot of posters don’t think we’ll sign many this summer, but I think they’ll be surprised.

Hard to see them letting go of Cashin unless it's for ridiculous money, or potentially to be loaned back to them. Having just released, Curtis Davis, Richard Stearman and James Chester...
Can see Warne having a bit of cull/rebuild, though, throughout the squad..Hes cut a frustrated figure at times, this season. Always had the impression that he doesn't fancy some of his squad to do what Paul Warne teams do,in L1.
If Ladapo does get moved on. I could definitely see him at Derby. Warne waxing lyrical about Ladapo earlier in the season. And they are a club big enough to accommodate FLs wages.
I like Ladapo, personally. But you do wonder how many of our existing squad are definites for KM, going forwards. Most season's, Fred 20 plus goals would have seen him our top scorer. He's more than played his part this season.

Like Ladapo but I think it's one of the more obvious areas where we can upgrade. Ladapo will get even less game time. I think he will probably go by mutual choice and really good luck to him. Somewhere like Derby, Wednesday or Peterborough would be perfect for him. We'll look to bring in Hirst+ 2 more I imagine.

If stays am happy to have him as an option mind.

What is his ceiling though?. If he's tearing up league 2 at 22, couldn't he be championship level by 24? £500k is a pittance if he becomes a premier league player in the future.

Where does he fit in currently though? Reality is, he’d be behind Morsy, Luongo, Evans, Ball & probably Camara in the pecking order. Don’t get me wrong, me may lose 1 or 2 of those, but I’ll be amazed, unless Peterborough are promoter, that Jack Taylor doesn’t end up here this summer, and even if he doesn’t, I’m sure it’s an area we’ll look to strengthen again.

He could but equally he could not.

And even if he does, is he a top tier championship player by then? Which is at the very least the type of player we all hope we are aiming for by then.

If he really kicks on then 500k will seem like a steal, but that's why you'd hope a sell on gets included.

Going from league 2 to top end championship player is a big ask in 2 seasons. As I say it's a risk but right now he's not getting near our team and does he even want to spend the next 2 years on loan.

Take the money to maximise this year's playing budget so we kick on after promotion

Is that the reality though? We've no idea how far he's developed or where he should be in that pecking order until he's back in the building. By a lot of accounts he's the best player In league 2. I Obviously trust whatever the recruitment team decide is the best path forward but you and a few others are making a lot of snap judgements here.

The smartest clubs in recent years have kept hold of players like this and moved them up through the leagues whilst retaining their rights - when you look at where the players in squad mentioned as ahead of him in their age 21 season then you see that there’s every chance he can push right on
