Pisses me off even more that the whinging on here and twitter from our fans stopped most of us going on and having our moment.

Only in Ipswich ffs

How could I be angry over your hilarious attitude?

Again, don't slate Town fans for the pitch invasion just because you are compliant. That is it.

You're the one slating fans. You seem really het up. Its Friday. Town are going up. Someone disagreed with you and they booed.

Booing the pitch invasion. Remarkable.

From the guy who called Nsiala "Mr Clean Sheet", are you really not getting it?

The club were saying over the speakers, if they didn't get off the pitch, then the players wouldn't have come back out. Most of us wanted the players to come back out and a some idiots were still staying on the pitch. Its not hard to understand is it?

Oh no, not goading?! Thank the lord that no fans ever goad opposition fans when in the stands

Again, someone who can't see the bigger picture.

GOading from afar, fine. GOading right next to fans is surely not on where they can run at each other. Otherwise, why even segregate fans then?

Has there ever been a points deduction given in the history of English football for a pitch invasion?

Yes. Brighton deducted two points for a pitch invasion in 1996/97, which nearly cost them their place in the Football League. They only survived on goal difference.

You are speaking like an ambassador of decency. How nice from you. The fans of other clubs should learn from you, shouldn't they?

Not sure why you taunt me over Nsiala. If you want it I'll happily remind you what a clueless one you are that is defying the facts. Yes, he was a Mr.Clean Sheet as we had a decent number of clean sheets with him. The problem was you and other clowns who used to scapegoate him at every opportunity. Any slight mistake and you were all over him while winking at the mistakes of other players. If I ask you about particular mistakes from him that led us to dropping points you will struggle to reply.

Solid League One CB, decent number of clean sheets. Next time you talk out of your arse and taunt me check the facts and numbers about him.

No it's not hard to understand. The compliant happy clappers like yourself make us so tinpot. 23 years of nothing, clapping relegation to the 3rd tier so first taste of success and you criticise people for what vast majority of fanbases do following the promotions......dear me what an unique ambassador of decency you must be !

Perhaps you should create your own channel on Youtube and teach fans from all over the country as to how to behave properly when it comes to celebrating promotions.

Ok, if we’re looking at the bigger picture I’m very interested to hear of all these celebratory pitch invasions that have descended into a full blown warfare between opposition fans

Classic TWTD.

So despite every other team in the playoffs celebrating on the pitch this week, and me wondering we can’t do the same, I’m getting sh*t despite not even going on the pitch? Superb.

Also, you’re very wound up by this. Chill out bro. It’s only a football forum and it’s only a topic about celebrating promotion inside some white lines or by some blue seats. Calm down I’d say rather than lobbing out the insults left, right and centre.

Rommers, I think there is a big difference between playoff games and our end of season game.

Playoffs are emotional and usually end in a pitch invasion because there is no player lap of honour and award thing.

Our last game had events planned as well as lap of honour for the players so the club asked for no pitch invasion and on the whole that was respected. It meant we got to see great scenes with the players and staff.

Had there been a big pitch invasion that couldn’t be dispersed for sometime we may never have got to see such wonderful scenes as McKenna getting the bumps and Woolfie singing to the SBR.
To be honest I thought if anyone really wanted to go on the pitch they would have and that was just a small amount which was fine and it kinda worked out. I’m sorry you feel you’ve missed out but is it really a big deal.

The scenes we saw at the end of the Exeter game were much more for fun for me than running on a pitch but each to their own.

This can’t be right at all!

If so it would mean that there are fans of our club who put the interests of the club ahead of their own need to show off for two minutes just to prove how ‘edgy’ they are.

Puritanical bedwetters!!

This is the first time I’ve mentioned a pitch invasion on this forum or elsewhere in my entire existence. I did chuckle at a couple of the threads pre-emptively moaning before we’d even been promoted though.

So when you say I’m doing it every time, what you actually mean to say is what I’ve done once in 24 years? I accept your apology.

Do explain to me where I said something that warrants an apology?

The club told fans before the match they would be taking any pitch invasion extremely seriously including bans cause it’s an offence. The club also wanted the players to be out there with their kids, partners, parents, extended family etc. Fozzy said it wasn’t going to happen if people went on the pitch and they wouldn’t come out again. I assume most boos were for that reason as people wanted the players out celebrating.

Also move on ffs

I understand why the club wouldn’t want fans on the pitch. Guess from their point of view they didn’t want any fan celebration on the pitch being ruined by a couple of drunken idiots.

Not really relevant to this but why do wives, girlfriends, kids and so on go onto the pitch as well? I understand that players want their families to join it but I don’t think there’s a need for it.

And after the moment, will you accept being banned from PR if the club decided to try and identify everyone on the pitch? Not looking to start an argument just interested in your thoughts on the theoretical possible consequences.

There would be an awful lot of fans banned if every club that won promotion banned its fans for going on the pitch🙄 4 pages of utter nonsense! There is still no one who can name ANY club in the football league who’s fans have have NOT had a pitch invasion due to being promoted! The clubs and the authorities KNOW it’s going to happen whatever proper noises they make.

Perhaps it was the 'proper football fans' who spouted off on social media about their intentions to have a pre-planned spontaneous pitch invasion that caused the club and EFL to call it out?

To answer your point, I'm pretty sure plenty of clubs have won the Premier League without a pitch invasion. Is the EFL a different game?

I'm finding this debate quite strange.

We were promoted, we should be enjoying this lovely hiatus with nothing to worry about football-wise, and everything to look forward to.

Do some people actually have a deep-seated desire to argue about something, anything, if there's no real ITFC-related football debate to be had? 🤔
