Weirdly one of these (I forget which) is the largest cat, typically being larger than the tiger
Who would win in a fight? on 12:50 - Dec 1 with 1827 views | NthQldITFC | Bloke walked into a pub with his pet giraffe, settled the giraffe down next to the fire, went to the bar and ordered a pint. "That'll be £4.50, mate," said the barman, "but you can't leave that lying there." "That's not a lion, it's a giraffe." said the bloke.

Who would win in a fight? on 12:43 - Dec 1 by GeoffSentence | I added those factors in. It turns out you win, unless I get a lucky blow. Based on the information provided, MattInLondon would have a significant advantage in a fight against GeoffSentence. MattInLondon's extensive experience in boxing and kickboxing would give him a clear edge in terms of skill, technique, and stamina. GeoffSentence's lack of combat experience would leave him vulnerable to MattInLondon's attacks and unable to defend himself effectively. It is important to note that even without any combat experience, GeoffSentence might still pose some risk to MattInLondon. A larger, stronger individual with a strong fighting spirit could potentially land a lucky blow and knock MattInLondon out. However, the odds would be heavily stacked against GeoffSentence in such a scenario. It is also worth noting that the outcome of a fight can always be unpredictable, even when one individual has a clear advantage. Factors such as adrenaline, luck, and the environment can all play a role in determining the winner. This is the way to sort out fights, do it all on AI. [Post edited 1 Dec 2023 12:46]

Not so sure about that. Gorillas are relatively shy and highly intelligent. My gut feeling is that the gorilla would just get the f out of there. The grizzly has very dangerous claws that give it a range attack, both the gorilla and the grizzly have dangerous bites. A large silverback gorilla weighs half what a grizzly bear weighs, and is 6 foot tall versus 9 foot for a grizzly bear. It would be like Tyson Fury v Barry McGuigan. The grizzly wins at range, and has the reach advantage. The gorilla takes one look and gets out of there.

The tigers would all start fighting each other whilst the lions sloped off to pick on a gazelle.

Now that's a nice phrase. In the giant traffic jam that was Ipswich yesterday, I had to abandon my car (I was nearly out of petrol) and slope off to the pub. How does slope differ from slink? I think slink is a bit more underhand, no?

Tigers are bigger, stronger, quicker and more agile than lions. Nobody has discussed home and away in the thread so far. Tigers live in Asian jungles and mountains, lions live predominantly on African plains. On their home ground in Africa, the lions see the tigers coming and run. Back in Asian jungles, the tiger stalks the lion and is on its back with teeth sunk into its neck before the lion realises. A troop of baboons versus any of the big carnivores is an interesting one...

I'd say sloping off is done casually, slinking feels like it's got some malign intent behind it.
