Not holding out much hope of Sunak wanting to debate properly. Assuming it'll be 60mins of him whining 'but Corbyn', no?

Sunak's delivery is pure primary school teacher.

Im not going to last long with this. He has said "clear plan" twice already. Fecking PR robot. And his clear plan to reduce inflation appears to have been "wait for the conditions to change and let the B of E do its job".

I've just watched the first question, the questioner was pretty much asking if they knew how she feels.

I suppose at the end of the day, when neither of them know how much a pint of milk costs, they can't understand the womans situation.

Starmer sounds surprisingly shaky so far. Seems as if he feels be on the back foot.

Surely Sunak's "£2k more tax for everyone" point is an open goal for him to pick apart?

Sunak is being agressive and talking over everyone in a rude way. The moderator needs to deal with that but wont.

He is completely avoiding it which is a surprise.

Disagree on the first point.

Agree on the second, not denying it really isn't a good look.

Plays well to his base, though, I assume.

He can't keep banging on about the election not being held in the past, whilst throwing 'I did furlough' about as if it's some magic wand.

If he's going to shout about his Covid antics, why not talk about Eat Out to Help The Virus?

He would pick it apart I’m sure if he was given a single chance to respond to the accusation.

Now he’s playing the devolution card, which overlooks that the funding is set by Westminster. Sunak’s hopeless at this, but so was Johnson and he managed to get gullible people to believe him.

Massively so. He is being more agressive, repeatedly interrupting and being allowed to do so.

I was concerned he didn't refute the 2k tax thing. Also he doesn't seem to have many answers, just mostly going on the attack regarding the tories failings. We all know what they are. What we want to hear is what labour will do differently

I think Sunak is hanging himself. The more he speaks the more he sounds like a petulant child.

True. Possibly because Starmer isn’t looking to interrupt as much. Although this host won’t let either of them expand their points - she’s awful. Just seems to be looking for headlines. It’s like A TV version of Twitter.

I’m not sure I believe Starmer when he says he wouldn’t go private though. I think I would if the waiting could mean the difference between life and death or even living with months of pain.
