His comments were clear. Not a direct call to violence, but pursuing the narrative that there is something sinister and institutional to be fought against, and that it was behind the incident. Which is plainly blx. |
He’s also praised those who’ve been convicted of crimes during the insurrection as heroes, who’d he’ll set free if he gets back into power. That’s people who have been charged with a whole host of felonies, including assault and even seditious conspiracy (attacks against the State, in the same family of offences as treason).
He’s a dangerous bloke. Much like Bolsonaro in Brazil, but luckily for Brazil their courts stepped in to prevent him from running again for a while. America needs a similar mechanism to block people who are criminals and undermine the State for running for President. |  |

As an interesting aside, the flag raising at Iwo Jima was recreated as there were no cameras that captuted the original raising. They did it again when the photograper arrived using a larger flag and different marines. | |

Regarding the weapon used .22 is caliber not mm. The standard NATO round is 5.56mm which is the same as .22 caliber.
We tend to think of .22 as less lethal in this country as it's associated with air rifles but a .22 round in a firearm is highly lethal, just ask JFK. |  |

From what I have read, given the building was outside the rally boundaries, it was only local police who were told about the potential gunman, and they might not have had a direct line to the Secret Service people to raise instant warning. But details keep changing and clarifying all the time so who knows. |  |

Being registered as a Republican or Democrat in the States is not the same as being a party member here. It’s just a loose statement of political preference you indicate on forms, surveys, censuses and so on. It’s not party membership, there is no subscription to pay as such. Would be good to have this clarified further by any Yankee posters here. | |
