Widespread disorder and violence is a smaller risk than people on boats who make up a tiny proportion of immigration?

Out of interest; how long do you think it takes to investigate the issue, identify suspects, then gather the necessary evidence to gain convictions?
A high number crossing could indicate the people smugglers think the gravy train is about to come to a halt and they want to maximise what's left.
Most of the smuggling operation is overseas in that there EU, of which we are no longer a member, and would require extradition warrants etc.
Judge success of lack there of over a longer period than 6 or 7 weeks.
Oh and shouldn't the question be why, given their rhetoric, wasn't the issue resolved under previous government?
Given the worship of money over such things as environmental protection and health Etc the answer is... Money!
Who benefits from the matter not being properly dealt with?
Who has made donations to Tory party but also runs refugee hostels, barges, and bought land cheaply then sold onto HMG for twice the price?I

Not sure why I feel I need to defend the Labour Party on their behalf, but if you ever thought the trafficking gangs, who have been operating their poisonous model for years, were going to broken in 5 to 6 weeks, you may need to review your expectations.
I expect these few days of good weather will see multiple crossing attempts and the trafficking gangs will become a little richer.
I've no idea if the job adverts have been written or gone out yet?
Perhaps you might consider applying for the new border force?
I expect your desire to smash the gangs and stop the crossings would perfectly match the essential skills criteria.

So Sunday’s crossing will cost tax payer £56,000,000
And that’s why labour have cancelled fuel benefits and will have to increase taxes in other ways.

How do you stop them? |
Well it is perfectly legal to rescue people from unsafe boats,which an overloaded dinghy is,and then return them where they came from! No turning unsafe boats around actually pick them up and take them back! This could be done just off the French coast so no need for lives to be risked mid channel. As it’s a rescue then it is legal!

The last government refused to work with France. Given they’re using all sorts of cheap inflatable dinghies, you’d need a dedicated force full time covering a vast area using incredibly high tech solutions too it seems.
I think a combined force with the French is possible, it depends on what this government can and will commit to.
Ultimately though we are back to the same issue of people happy and willing to die to get here. How do we deal with that? | |
