It began as a protest against despicable institutional racism, and quickly became a very powerful worldwide symbol of the need for humanity to sort out its deep-rooted inequalities. The newness of that symbol has faded, but it remains as a brief gesture and much-needed reminder of the need for human decency. What on earth does this small symbolic act cost anyone who believes in that decency?

Who really cares. Thing is, we are now on a global scale, everywhere around the world watches these matches - if Liverpool did and we didn't, we would be all over the news because we refused to. The only thing that annoyed me yesterday was the excessive (in terms of numbers), amateur (in terms of positioning) and over-zealous (in terms of response) stewarding of Cobbold A.
For me just took the shine off, result notwithstanding, a special occasion.
