I mean - it's not a must win or we're down, blah, blah, blah, but it feels to me that if we don't get anything out of any of this block of games it's pretty poor isn't it!
I know we have a track record of improving the squad in Jan, - but I can't honestly see that we're going to attract or afford anyone who's going to significantly improve us.
I'm not blaming anyone nor having a moan, but I fear the 2nd half of the season will be a real struggle. I just can't see us having enough to stay up. Not a disaster, because unless things go seriously wrong in the squad we should have enough quality to do what Burnley or Sheff Utd are doing (even if we lose KM). |  |

I think both teams will be feeling anxious going in to the game I have to say, and the hope is that we can stifle and frustrate them early on, and create tension in the stands.
Pondering Saturday I do wonder whether we need to alter ever so slightly, take a no.10 out and move to a 3-4-2-1.

How can we seriously give up that easily! We’re only 4 points from safety, 5 if we take into account the GD. We’re more than competitive, have been hit hard by injuries but those players will be back, it’s not even mid season yet and we’ve got a set of players, manager, chief executive and ownership group along with fans that are all together and pulling in the right direction.

I may be being pessimistic but when you're in that rut it's very difficult to get out of. Our PPG is going down, not up thanks to the last 2 home defeats. I am not saying staying up is impossible, but we need a drastic upturn in results to make it happen. | |

I think we'll improve and get more points in the 2nd set of 19 games than the first set.
However if we are more than 5 points adrift of safety by half way at the end of the year (Chelsea game) I think it will be very unlikely we stay up.
Considering the next few fixtures we have the concern is we may be more than 6 points off safety come that stage. A gap of at last two wins when we've one won one all season thus far becomes significant.
I just hope we some how hang on and stay in touching distance because our last two months of the season looks very encouraging fixture wise. [Post edited 10 Dec 2024 16:46]

Going to be a very tough match. If we can get at them early on, then their fans may do our job for us. Imagine they are going to go full out attack at us, which could work in our favour. Like I say, going to be a tough one. I think a mustn't lose is a good tag. Not the end if we do, but would just let those around us know that we ain't going without a fight. |  |
