Things that need to go away in 2025 15:36 - Dec 23 with 12053 views | Illinoisblue | Vaping Take your vile toxic plastic-fruit-flavored nonsense and shove it. Smoke real cigs or fook off. AFC Bournemouth. Horrible nothing club in a non-league stadium. Be gone. Customer surveys after every purchase Shops emailing asking “how did we do?” needs to stop. If you can’t figure out what good customer service means without pathetically asking your customers, you shouldn’t be in business.

Things that need to go away in 2025 on 17:27 - Dec 23 by Illinoisblue | For those who have never been to Haverhill, what’s wrong with it? Is it nasty in a Jaywick poverty and desperation kind of way? Or just a bit rough and ratty in a London overspill kind of way |
Nothing wrong with London overspill towns. People who appear surprised that they need to pay at tills and then fumble around for their cash/card. People who don't use indicators when turning right at roundabouts. My ex-wife,17 years apart and she's suddenly gone nuclear, very tedious and unnecessary.

Just to weight in and heartily agree with this point. I think it's fine to voice opinions, even to say that player XX may not be good enough, but just try and hold back the vitriol a little. [Post edited 24 Dec 2024 7:49]

Things that need to go away in 2025 on 22:12 - Dec 23 by Illinoisblue | Oof, both of those hit a nerve. The tipping culture here is insane. |
Apparently it's made the top ten of annoyances in the US now. It used to be seen as something to be encouraged. I am in Canada and this thing of requesting a tip for counter service is becoming increasingly popular. Half expecting it to reach supermarket cashiers soon. The customer service here and the US is next level compared to the UK etc. but it's becoming a bit tiresome now the expectation of tipping is being pushed at you. I was always happy with the unspoken agreement. [Post edited 24 Dec 2024 16:29]

I'm in Canada too. I don't tip at places where they aren't doing anything. The most I tip is 10%. Crazy situation where food was delivered at different times, things were forgotten, ended up leaving early and some of my friends still tipped 18% on what they received. Insane. Another server would hold the machine, until I demanded they let go, so I was pressured to give their minimum suggest 25% tip. Crazy. Bin tip tipflation, bin tip pressure, bin tip entitlement, bin tip creep.

I get that annoyance. But as someone on the other side of the fence, I'm a taxi driver, the rise of card and app payments has led to a massive decrease in tips. A recent example was on Saturday I took a guy and his kids back to their home on a new development where there was no signal and my card reader wouldn't work. When he was planning to pay by card he was going to pay the £7 fare on the nose, luckily he had cash on him gave me a tenner and refused to take any change as it's Christmas.

Recently came back from Canada and the US on a Princess cruise ship, also everything was processed in dollars. Tips required for everything. Whether you like it or not. People from many areas of the world flew to Southampton for the start of the voyage and commented on a cruise forum how many places in Southampton had service charges. I do think it should be up to an individuals choice and whether they deem the service good enough for a tip. Most cruise lines charge for gratuities for instance Princess between $17 & $19 per person, per day and if you don't take out one of their packages there's also an 18% service charge on drinks. I think it used to be prior to the pandemic assumed that staff on cruise lines were poorly paid. But I did a check on this and it seems that they are on $42,000 per year, plus gratuities. The thing that really amazed me was that the Captain of the ship also got a share of the gratuities. As if he needed it.

Most car park regulations are written in such a way as you can get a ticket for not parking within the bay. Sadly it is enforced enough, allowing Tw4ts to get away with it. See parking like a TW4T Facebook page.

Things that need to go away in 2025 on 17:59 - Dec 23 by leitrimblue | Haverhills just misunderstood. It's arguably the cultural centre of West Suffolk if not the entire county. I suggest trying out some of its highlights, such as the view across to the Blagden Chemicals cooling towers from the top of the Chalkstone Estate. Or perhaps enjoy a saveloy sausage and chips from Bennys Bar BQ eaten on the p1ssy steps of the town hall across the road. If you need any more suggestions I'm happy to help |
Yes. But while I have nothing specific against Haverhill, you have to admit, it's not Southwold is it.
