Said it in the summer, the whole situation does not sit well with me.
Seems like a lot of disruption which we could well do without in a really important transfer window.
Surprised Ashton has carried on with the agent as well, he was a nightmare in the summer, and that has not changed. Plus Villa replacing him like for like is not making me think he is going to solve all our issues.

I'd be more interested in what the Hull fans have to say to be honest. The Villa fans have seen little of him and what they have seen has been in a return to the club that clearly suited no one other than Villa from a PSR perspective. Hull fans have seen him in full flow, playing consistently and being a valued member of the squad, they are likely to have a more rounded opinion of his talents and weaknesses. |  | | |

For me I’d say these Villa “fans” are slightly more expectant nowadays for one and secondly , how much have they really seen of him those season to make a proper judgement
If KMcK and our team have been tracking this bloke for quite a while it’s more than good enough for me and Ipswich Town
We are shopping in a slightly different market compared to Champion’s League teams and the majority of the Premier League. Apart from AAH all the other players we’ve tracked / purchased over the last couple of seasons have exceeded my expectations so please lets not get all entitled |  |

The fact that Ashton and McKenna (who know more than anyone on here) are pushing this suggests it is right for the club. None of us know the details, and it’s only been a week of discussions.
We have a player negotiating contract terms, so solicitors and agents are involved. I think people need to stop filling in the gaps in their knowledge with an assumption that JP doesn’t care or is a bad egg.
I don’t think it is hugely disruptive, it would be far more problematic if this was an existing player negotiating contract terms and therefore in among the squad (that’s me assuming).

The fact is that we have absolutely no idea what’s going on. It could be that we agreed a 25% sell on fee with Villa and now, because we know they need to sell him this window due to bringing in another player, we might be trying to renegotiate that back down to 10% and it’s got nothing to do with the player or the agent. The club want the player and they’ve got more than enough credit in the bank to be trusted to do whatever they think is right. Hull fans are giving their opinion on a player who they watched in the Championship. Villa fans are giving their opinion on a player who came full of confidence into a very good team in the Premier League and hasn't done anything, hence why they're happy to let him go now when he was on a long term contract.
I'm reserved on Philogene. I think he's another Jack Clarke. Winger who will be playing more inside as a 10 which won't suit his game. |  |

That is true but you know nothing of the reasons behind that. It could be down to the agent, it could be down to lawyers, it could be down to either club. The Delap deal was done quick, Delap was in the group and training as promptly as possible and look how he has come on.
