The responses from the Gala fans are telling, I think the general gist is "I'll drive him there myself"
Anyway, I've been told there's nothing in it.
Awful quite relative - maybe at Champions League level but more than capable to come and play as a substitute for us. A forward with a 1 in 2 record for one of the best international sides in the world is a definite upgrade on Ali.

Most likely agent talk but at £4m you'd have to say he's an upgrade on Hirst let alone AAH.

....overly critical.
I'm just basing it on memories of him being pretty ineffectual in the Prem previously.
Any port in a storm I guess.

Michy Batshuayi - £5m offer rejected… on 16:15 - Jan 27 with 10658 views
I'd take him at that price or around it. Been in the league and good experience, plus that's fairly cheap. Never forget when he smashed the ball into the post and it rebounded at him in the face.

Didn't do a lot in the Prem though did he and he's not getting any younger.
Feels a little bit desperate to me, if true.

Again, relative - he's probably got a similar amount of Premier League goals than the rest of our squad combined.
He's not perfect but I don't think the perfect option exists right now. He scores goals, is strong and quick enough. If it's Batshuyai or nobody I'd definitely take him (and I realise that is the faintest of praise but does feel like signing nobody is a very valid prospect this week).

This is my observation.
It's not like we have a world of players available to us, that fit the description and within our price range.
With AAH gone, a third striker is needed. Yes, we could cope with Hirst and Delap but we are an injury or suspension away from it being an issue.
If this is genuine then it's purely about getting someone in with experience, skills and expertise at the highest level to try and keep us up.
It's a potentially reasonably sensible signing in that regard.
Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...
I'm not sure, its slim pickings. I'm wondering if we might not recruit at all tbh. IF it were a profile like MB I would rather it was a loan deal. Signing him for £5m and those wages when we're potentially 3 months from relegation feels a little desperate IMO. I think we either go perm on a different profile who can lead us post Delap, or temporary on a shorter term option like that.

£5m is very little in the great scheme of things, which shows how far we've come. Dependent on his contract, I'd prefer him to no one and certainly he's an improvement on Carlton Morris (not that there's any links to him other than people saying his name on here).
Plus, if he's happy to sign, he must be prepared for possible relegation.

It's a classic loan with obligation if we stay up deal that would be ideal for us. In terms of instant quality, I'll be amazed if we end up with someone better than Batshuayi this window though.

Never really had a home though has he? Seems he can produce but hasn’t had a stable career. I’ve always liked him to be fair and think he could help keep us up just by taking the strain off the two lads we have.
He’s not going to be phased by any ground or team we line up at

He was highly rated until he joined the Chelsea circus, where he was a perennial substitute, I recall him scoring some important goals in Europe off the bench for them? Certainly a player who shouldn't be judged on his lack of game time at Chelsea IMO
