Pathetic, embarrassing, deserve to be relegated on 21:39 - Feb 26 with 3458 views | Portman_Pie | To be up against such a poor Utd team playing a full half with 10 - and to go down at 10 is really, really poor. I’ve got to agree - it’s poor tactics, and a certainty we’ll be relegated now.

United are an absolute basket case and we couldn’t have made it any easier for them. We’ve scored through 2 massive strokes of luck and not laid a glove against 10 men for 60 minutes. We’ve been truly appalling for about 2 months and that performance was the tip of it.

In recent weeks I'd agree we haven't been pathetic or embarrassing, but tonight took the biscuit for me. Everything had fallen into place at HT for us. Equaliser. Ten men. McKenna had 15 mins to regroup and change shape to get our spare man on the ball. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I'm sorry, but it's not that we're not good enough. It's that there was no bravery. We've spent a shed loaf on attacking players, and of all those 10s, none of them were prepared to commit to anything. All we did was pass it out to them, then put it back. No guts to take a man on. Hardly even put a cross in. They one time we did, we scored. We've not created anything, against ten men. We appear to have no plan. They last 2 years we've been quick, positive and brave. We were none off those things tonight. And we haven't been all season.

It's really disappointing and it underlines where we are as a club. But the journey to get here was ridiculous and we just haven't been able to make the Jump. Gutted.

Pathetic, embarrassing, deserve to be relegated on 21:50 - Feb 26 with 3050 views | OldFart71 | Totally agree. The straw that broke the camels back. To lose to a poor ten man Man Utd and basically not have a shot on target second half was soul destroying to watch. We hardly ever got around the back of them. Mark Davis out and one side is tied up and the other side nobody crossed the ball and when they did it hit the first man. United gave us a head start then had a man sent off. Slab head got his head on everything in our box with nobody marking him. It brings into question what happens on the training ground. I have been one of the first to defend the team and KM but this was poor and you cannot dress it up as anything but.
Pathetic, embarrassing, deserve to be relegated on 21:55 - Feb 26 with 2951 views | itfc_statman | I get it, the frustration. United were terrible and reduced to 10 men and still beat us. But the players are trying. They're not good enough and McKenna is a very average manager at this level - even if he was a top prem manager it would be hard to make up the difference in quality but he's probably not ultimately ready for a job at the top

Screwed up the summer transfer window, hoped we would sort in January only to royally fool it up. If it weren’t for two ridiculous goals for Philogene tonight I would be ashamed at that result.

Statman picks and chooses his stats to suit his argument. I’ve seen him/her/them use stats to make one point in a thread and use stats to make the opposite argument elsewhere. Only place they’re worthy of is ignore. It’s not a lucky goal; it was one of the only half decent balls into the box we made all night and it ended up in the back of the net. Why we didn’t try that more often in the 2nd half I’ll never know.

Could you provide an example, or would that be too much for your limited ability in debate since "ignore" is the only option for something you don't agree with? 2025, ladies and gentlemen. It was a hopeful ball in that shouldn't have been a goal. Delighted we scored it, but we won't score another from a low left-footed ball from the right skidding up off the surface and conveniently nestling in the bottom left corner. It's not a repeatable well worked pattern goal.

Haha, your reliance on stats means you fail to see the game with your eyes, it seems. It was an accurate, dangerous ball in which either gets touched in by Delap or, as it happens, goes all the way by itself. It didn't particularly "skid up off the surface". To say it's not repeatable, you're just embarrassing yourself. Stop digging fella.

No, he's right. It was an ultra low-xG chance. And it absolutely skidded off the surface, hence why Delap left it.

I've got nothing to dig. Your view isn't in line with professional football coaches. McKenna won't be seeing that goal as a regular, repeatable pattern goal and it won't be something he will encourage in a coaching manner. In fact, he generally speaking doesn't encourage crossing from a coaching perspective because like most other coaches at the top level they understand the quality of chances created is, historically and statistically pretty low. I'd suggest you're showing a clear ignorance to modern-day football coaching and you should try speaking to some.

I've no interest in how xG it was, and I'm not all that bothered whether it "skidded off the surface" either really. I'm saying it wasn't a lucky goal (like the first was). It's a dangerous ball into the box that either gets touched in by the attacker or doesn't need a touch. It's not lucky in the sense of something bizarre happening. Dangerous balls into the box lead to goals every week.

I doubt that is correct about Mckenna but if it is then maybe he should. That type of left footed inswinging cross from the right ( or vice versa ) has a pretty good chance of creating a goal scoring opportunity if delivered correctly. You see this happen quite regualrly, see Bryan Mbeumo against us earlier in the season as one example. One of the greatest prem players of all time, Mo Salah, plays that type of delivery pretty much every week.
