When we inevitably get relegated in the next few weeks, 11:56 - Mar 18 with 4256 viewscarlo88

I'd like to see celebrations at the home match like the Huddersfield one last May. Pitch invasions, flares, Kieran grinning and being given the bumps.
Show the EPL where to stick their dodgy league, with blatant cheating rewarded with paltry 4 point deductions, or if you're lucky or very very rich, no punishment at all.

Put it like this "Nobody should be crying" We were all aware it would be tough. Maybe recruitment could have been different but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Just take a few minutes and look at your own life and think what you would have done differently and I'd bet there's not one person who could say that there isn't something they'd do differently. For those that go to the last home game if we are then relegated just cheer the lads on like you would like when we went up to the Championship and then to the Prem. Renew your ST's and hopefully look forward to winning a lot of games and getting back where we belong.

I agree in regard to the pathetic points deductions, but I won't be celebrating relegation after likely losing against West Ham, we'd be the laughingstock of English football.

You must be joking.MA, KM and the team should already be thanking their lucky stars they are not being abused and booed at every match. We must be the only club in the bottom 6 of the PL not to do so.

That's because the majority of us know we're massively punching above our weight just being in this league, let alone being 18th.

We are decades behind the rest.

Totally agree Saffron Walden. I think a few of the late comers think it's like Football Manager. The reality is that odds were stacked against us: financially, squad-wise, in terms of everything off and on-pitch.
We have performed about on par with realistic expectations, like 2 seasons ago. Last season was just amazing, but we did something special there. It can't happen twice with the gulf so big. We have found our current level, and it's below Premier League but above 22/24 of the Championship. We shall be back, all the better for this chastening experience.

We’re not decades behind, that’s just hyperbole.

Once upon a time, Leicester were miles ahead of us but now we’re on an equal setting to them. Think we’re ahead of Southampton who not that long ago were way out in front of us.

Most clubs are just a couple bad signings away from sliding away from mid-table anonymity to relegation contenders.

We are in real terms though aren't we. We have been significantly worse off than many top-flight clubs in the past two decades off the field too between Administration and Marcus Evans.

22 years outside of the top flight.
6 top flight seasons in 39 years total.
4 Seasons in the third tier.
Last League Cup Semi-Final 14 years ago.
Last FA Cup quarter-final 31 years ago
Last Wembley appearance - 25 years ago.
Last major honour 44 years ago.

It's a long time in football to be out of the top bracket, missing out in media money, parachute payments, and with very little to crow about. We have done amazingly well to turn a tide that could have potentially sunk the club even further had the previous owner remained in post.

None of that list has any relevance to where we are now. Matt's right; we're behind... but we're not decades behind.

The OP is silly, but you embody the worst new breed of fan. Just think back to how excited you were 2 years ago when you went to your first Town game. We've been spoiled rotten ever since then and you don't even know it.

So with that bonkers theory we don't look to get promoted next season?

Seriously worry about some of our 'fanbase' with that kind of attitude, talk about creating a club where failure is seen as acceptable.

I for one am very proud of what we've achieved. I'm old enough to remember the UEFA and FA cup victories and our time spent in the Premier League prior to this one. Hopefully we will finish above the other two teams who came up with us including the one the beat us to the title. That in itself is an achievement, they have spent significant time in the Prem in recent times and have the infrastructure in place to exist in that league, we had to build all of that in the off season and as the season has progressed.

If we go back down then we'll go again and should be much better placed to win promotion and if we do, we'll be much better prepared to stay up the second time around.

I think wild celebrations and carrying KM around on our shoulders is probably a bit much but we should be proud of what we've achieved and celebrate the hard work that everyone at the club has put into this season.

Marcus Evans did so much damage, a lot is still being undone

The PL money was a shot in the arm, we are ahead of schedule still and the yo-yo may do us some good

The key is achieving that and there is no reason why we shouldn't achieve it really

Just look at Burnley and Sheffield United, they have a fairly good shout of achieving it
