He pretty much accepted a job there once (before changing his mind) - would he do the same again if offered?

Might be a surprise to some - would be pretty devastated if that happened.

I don't think he would get an offer in the summer from a Premier League club.

I really think our biggest danger of losing him will be November-January if we're fighting at the top of the league again.

He will get his chance but the way these things go, he's going to have to prove himself again at least for a few months. He doesn't have the famous player premium that Kompany had.

To actually answer the question, he would likely jump at the opportunity. Taking the blue specs off it would be a no brainer.

Truly impaired.

I don't think this season is going to make a blind bit of difference re a middling PL club's opinion of him.

Ah okay, fair enough! I didn't realise that was an issue - apologies.

The tweet was from Florian Plettenburg - as below.

🚨🆕 Oliver #Glasner remains a candidate for the RB Leipzig head coach position next season as recently revealed.

… after Sebastian Hoeneß has extended his contract with #VfB.

There has already been contact with Glasner’s management. If Glasner wants to join RB, a transfer fee will be required, as his contract runs until 2026. However, there is said to be an exit option. Leipzig boss Marcel Schäfer knows Glasner well from their time together at Wolfsburg.

Given he has just ordered a new training ground at high cost to his specifications, I can’t see him leaving for a while. He will stay on for some time into the future.

I hope he'll want any move done and dusted early this summer. Otherwise he commits to stay.

But yes, if Palace want a new manager in the summer and McKenna is their no.1 target, he will go. They are *years* ahead of us.

How much of the decision making was with Steve Parish and how much was down to Dougie Freedman when they were interested in McKenna?

If it was Parish, then we might be vulnerable if Glasner left. If it was Freedman, then he's just left Palace so McKenna's name might not be as high up on their radar.

To be honest ..i could put my house on that no premier league clubs come in for him...he has not done anything to be honest, bar get us in to premier ship.. but its as different as chalk.and cheese ..luton last season put in a better effort than us ..and was there or there abouts up to last 2 or 3 games..yet did any premier club come in for their manager ..!!! And look where luton is now .....mckenna has done a great job to where he got us ..but to be honest..I won't lose sleep if he goes else where..fresh new ideas and a different type of player coming in ..from a néw manager maybe what we need...if mckenna gets us back up ...it could be very much RINSE REPEAT..he loves to rotate his players a lot .how will players get to know patterns of play and know where certain players will be if they don't get to play continuously with each other and build up an understanding...I rest my case

Can't see that making any difference. Just like a house you want to sell: some enjoy the new kitchen before they go; some put it in in order to make the house saleable, and some do it because it was next on the list and will be a benefit in case of either staying or moving on. If knowing when best to move was a precise science fewer of us could look back on mistakes made or a stroke of masterly timing. But when you gotta go, you gotta etc..........

This is an absolute classic: "he has not done anything to be honest, bar get us in to premier ship". Yeah, apart from the massive achievement of taking a side languishing in midtable in the third tier to the Prem in 2.5 years, what has the guy actually achieved?

He also doesn't especially love to rotate, our success in previous years has been based on stability and patterns of play with only the odd change here and there. The reason for so many changes this season has been (a) a ridiculous amount of injuries to key players in important positions, and (b) some players not performing the level needed and us needing to make changes as a result. We also had to bring in a lot of players to give us a squad that could compete but the flip side of that is it impacts on the understanding and fluidity of the side. I mean, your post is just bonkers to be honest.

The November - January think is interesting though I think.

If a team is not doing well, would they want a progressive manager that is flying at the top of the championship or someone that knows how to stay up?

His defensive record I guess is not that great if you think about it.

So, because he got us to the Premier league , all be it Leeds giving it to us . We have to stick with this manager until he either goes elsewhere or our league position deteriorates enough to make it impossible for him to stay ?
Fresh ideas are very much what is needed atm.

We got 96 points last season, usually that would see us winning the Championship. If you're going to try and push the narrative that Leeds gifted us promotion you can jog on, mate. We were promoted on merit and McKenna's management was a huge part of making a newly promoted side able to consistently over perform.

And yeah, he's got himself enough credit in the bank that he stays unless we have a poor start to next season in which case change may be needed. Anyone thinking we should be making a change now, I really can't get my head around it.
